Well for all you power yacht 'Boatnicks' out there ,backin the late 50's Bertram Yacht powered some of their boats with the " Super Marauder "430 cu in engine ,in Tri power form it put out a whopping 400 hp . This was the hot option set up in the Park lane Mercurys back in the late 50's :beatnik: So back then 'Marauders' [engines] were Dual purpose .

Well I see its time for another history lesson , Mercury Marine was formed in 1969 AFTER KARL KIEKHAEFER retired from Kiekhaefer Mercury, that was formed in 1939 this is the guy that originated the Mer Cruzer out board ,also in later years Mercury Marine was commisionned to build the original Zr1 corvette motor .to go back further he was one of the first Pre Nascar backed racing teams, he had chrysler 300's 1955-57 / Bill France from Nascar had a problem with Kiekhaefer ,because his Chryslers kicked A-- [ just my 200 dollars worth ..
