I am preparing to install a new full/complete exhaust system with my new 5.0L 4V engine. I am told Kooks will deliver the most power for while enabling me to pass CA smog.
Between Kooks and Stainless Works, I'd appreciate hearing which you prefer for a full exhaust system and why (performance, reliability, warranty, quality, etc..).

kooks: http://www.kooksheaders.com/warranty, stainless steel long tubes , They do NOT meet CARB compliance, I've heard up to 20/25 hp/tq on a n/a motor and up to 50/50 with s/c motor, and You need a dyno tune, and cheaper (rumors) harder to install.
stainless works: Stainless Steel long tubes, Lifetime guarantee on materials and workmanship, bolts to stock exhaust, around same hp/tq benefit, need a dyno tune, cheaper and (rumors) easier to install.

The Stainless Works do not necessarily need a dyno tune. We can do a mail order tune that will work well with the headers.
Expect about 20 rwhp from the SW set up.
If you are interested in the SW product, let me know. I can get you very good prices on them.

It doesn't get any better than this. Its not too many performance shops that will sell you a product and give an additional product to make it work. Thanks for the clean-up marty and good luck lownde

Either are good products but pros vs cons, SW wins out because people have reported easier installation, slightly higher power gains, easier access to the starter and they are true long tube headers where as Kooks are "mid-length headers".
Personally I am going with SW for my new motor.

Kooks are a joke to install.

I got 87whp and 46wtq on my paxton supercharged Marauder. :D
My Son's Marauder with the Kooks made 29whp and almost 20wtq more.

Yes and that's give or take some. Depends a lot on other factors such as other supporting mods, dyno and tune.

On 2/22/15, I emailed SW asking for California customers, do you have a configuration that passes CA Smog? Thus far, no answer. Please share here for us Cali owners to hear.

Perhaps the questions answer is not back & white, although an answer should be given.
EGR is provided I believe, or could easily be added, but will they need some CARB number for visual? Might be too dicey to promise anything in Cali.

No back-to-back dyno pulls I have seen...ever...has produced identical numbers. Thus, it has always been my practice to do 3 pulls, add and average, before publication of HP and TQ numbers from any particular mod.
The leap from OEM exhaust to headers and what goes with them, is a great leap, second only by the introduction of a power-adder.
The only way you could conduct a fair and equal side-by-side comparison, is on an engine dyno. What that would accomplish would be to establish a fair and level playing field. However, what you will learn from it, is that the difference in power gains between the two is so small, you could not justify the effort or expense of conducting the test.
The better objective would be to judge fit and fitment, install complications (as a few have mentioned, thank you), lifetime endurance (a long term examination) and possibly (though elusive) resale values, the last being highly subjective.
Some folks like buying a car with mods, but most of us do not. Which headed set you install may have impact on resale values, because beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and highly prejudicial.
The best advice, is shop wisely and seek out the best deal you can find. Right now, seems to be MartyO, and if I owned a Marauder today, I'd be in his shop so much, I'd be getting my mail there.
So...Coin toss, dude. Whatever works for you, here, now, today. Just do it, you won't be wrong unless you don't.

Looking for opinions.. I have a N/A marauder and want to put full exhaust system on it with headers my last marauder had cut outs and aero turbines installed. I like the Sw works exhaust system a lot wondering if I should get on road or off road. I live in New York and it is not my daily but I want it to be decently loud and sound mean. Please reply!

Headers and cut-outs make it easy to be loud. Big Joe P didn't have any mufflers on his 4V, just cats and resonators. But loud isnt mean, you have to back it up by really being mean.
The difference in on road and off road is the absence of cats, something I cannot support due to past experience.
Any concern for performance?
What is are aero-turbines? I am not familiar with this technology.

Loud is a relative term, I have full cats and headers and most folks say my car is too loud - which I almost agree with. In reality if you have any emission testing in your state I wouldn't sacrifice a few extra horses for not having cats and possibly messing with your chance to drive a great car. I'm with Mac on this one. Unless you race a car often the difference in 10 - 15hp is so insignificant that it really only matters if you want bragging rights. Any given day, temperature, traction, air density, brains, all affect the performance of the car. 99% of us our NOT tuning the car at the track competing in an NHRA event trying to squeeze the last thousand of a second out of our cars.

I have SW heads, cats and stock sized exhaust. It had some crappy mufflers that got me a $195 defective equipment ticket.
I chose to quiet the car down with new mufflers. Street, not race, but sounds very good to anyone that comments.

Sounds like stock headers and exhaust are the way to go. The hard requirement for the project has always been Must Pass CA Smog. I can always change behind the cats to change the sound up, I guess.

I emailed (twice) SW via their site and here. No response to either. Summary impression is, none of the products have CA smog certificates.
The Vortech blower has CA smog certificate stamped on it. But nothing for exhaust. Damn.

CARB cost pretty big bucks I hear ,so limited production models prolly wont get it. One of the reasons Trilogy didn't pursue it. Vortech is in Cali so they gotta play their way

I bought it this way..I only added 31 spine axles, new tires, powder coated cam covers,Borla mufflers, grille, tint, gauges and a freshened tune to a SCT device rather than chip (old school) I got a good deal on it, some would say stole it..last April, before that I had a a Maraduer and put a vortech on it (non intercooled) but it had no other performance upgrades..I sold it last June. for $400 more than I paid for my present one.
