Nope, nothing wrong with my car, thankfully. But, I was wondering, what are the inexpensive (short block or long block) used motor swap options are?
I know certain year Aviator, Mach1 and Cobra motors would work. But, what about the earlier 4.6L Cobras and Mark VIII?

You can use earlier 96-98 cobra/93-98 mark VIII short blocks, you don't want to use the heads though, B heads don't flow as well as our C heads do, then you will have the Teksid block too. "Drop in" long blocks though you are limited to what you already know with the addition of the 99/01 cobra they have c heads too, with different cams.

Thanks!
But what is the advantage (if any) of a Teksid block?

Our heads & accessories bolt right up to any of these short blocks?

Does the motor just mount right in to our cars mounting location with out any modifications?

Good info on Teksid vs WAP block castings.

Timing covers will vary between the models, but depending on what you go with an oil pan and timing cover may need to be swapped, not a big deal when the engine is out of the car.

The Teksid block is really only an upgrade if you are building for power. But you can pick up a complete Mark VIII engine for around $300 on craigslist.
