I joined here a while back while planning to buy a Marauder as an upgrade from my 95 T-Bird. Now I've actually found one worth buying, with 88,500 Miles and with 4.10's, AeroTurbine 2525's and an SCT tune already on it. 03', Black, 300B Im thinking.
Anything I should look for? At all? It's in Illinois, and it stayed covered and in a garage as long as this guy had it.

Get rid of the SCT tune if it is one of SCT's canned tunes,it's garbage..keep the handheld and get a MO's Speed shop tune if you don't have one..he is a member, martyo, here on the forums and site vendor. if you have a Lidio Tune or Zack tune,,then should be good to go as well.

He may mean that it has a tune via sct tuner, may not exactly be a sct canned tune.

He has a tuner, as in a handheld. Ill get the details for it here in a sec.
Planned to have my dads favorite shop, Triangle Speed Shop do a dyno tune, but I'm still not sure.

Unless it has a s/c or headers, there is no need for a dyno tune. MO's speed shop has one of the best tunes you can buy.

Stick to southern cars with some kind of maintenance history. Avoid early production blacks due to bad paint. Weak axles have probably been replaced by now in that generation of cars as well.

You shouldn't have to pay more than $10K for a stock car with less than 80K miles and perfect paint. Modded cars may have been thrashed, but they can handle it. Just look for clean, maintained cars.

Make sure the lights and wipers work like they should. Make sure the AC controls change mode like it should (vent, floor, reacts to temp settings). Make sure there's no excessive tick on the driver's side head. Check for broken suspension springs on the front, near the base. Check for inner-edge tire wear on the front. See if the power pedal adjustment works. Check the steering linkage for excessive rust or binding.

I've seen a few around here. Not many, most of them are up north. I'm still looking though!
Thanks for the advice. Very appreciated.

Steve(embassy) has a cherry one you could eat off ANY surface for sale for a song...

Plus Barry (Shiajack) is selling tickets for a Marauder raffle...

Could you elaborate on your first comment?
And it would be awesome but I don't have money to gamble on.

Steve's car is nicer than when it came off the assembly line, by a lot.

As for your local tuner, ask around the Mustang clubs. Most shops have no experience with the Marauder but Marty does and his "canned" tunes are among the best. Same for Lidio (Alternative Auto) and Zack.

It is a combo I plan on having myself one day. In fact...if for some reason I can't get my bank to go for a marauder, l'll be getting a SHO.
But I honestly would rather have a Marauder.

see if he'll take a fat deposit to hold. He's had the car a long time - if you're serious, might be agreeable

One of a kind with that paint, as my two tone car is. Love unique.

You just ruled out 90% of Marauder ($)
