So I found this remanufacturer on line,
http://www.psengines.com/FORD8.htm
They offer remanufactured long block Mark VIII, Continental, and Aviator motors all hundreds of dollars cheaper than the Marauder and Cobra engines. Wouldn't these all be suitable stock replacement motors for my Marauder? Is there something I'm not seeing here? Because I'm seeing the same motors under a different name for $400-$500 cheaper!

Don't quote me but pretty sure continental will not work as won't have provisions for motor mounts, its a FWD car. The block part number is not the same as Mark VIII. The Mark VIII long block wouldn't be the best as it has B heads, that flow less than ours plus our intake manifold won't bolt up, so the heads are useless. Aviator would be the best choice.

Correct, the Continental block will not work in a RWD setup.

I'd love to get the Jasper, but it's not in the budget. That's why I was asking if the other 4 valves would work, they're cheaper than the Marauder 4 valve listed.
So the Aviator sounds like the only sure bet that'll work right and save me cash?

Timing cover and valve covers may have to be swapped.
The Marauder has a specific timing cover just for it, not used on any other 4v motor.

As long as they swap over without modification necessary, that's no problem.

PSEngines says the camshafts on the Aviator are different than the Marauder, not sure how that would effect it dropping on in, but then he told me they're sold out of both engines. Debating a cheap used motor and selling it before it blows like the last one...

That't not true. 03-04 cobra, mach 1, aviator all share the same heads and cams.

That's what I read! And their Aviator long block was about $500 cheaper than the Marauder one. Turned out they had neither in stock though anyways...

That stinks. I would think it should be easier to find an engine, they are all over car-part.com

seems nearly impossible to find an engine and if so at a reasonable price.

Exactly, I can find em all day for $3800. I've seen whole Marauders sell for $3800!

Marauder, Mach 1 and late 99-01 cobras share the same cover

I never wanted to build a car! She's bone stock! I just wanna keep her on the road. Junking a Marauder is a sin.

I'm just saying you aren't in his shoes, who knows what he's up against. I just have empathy for those who are trying to do the best they can with what they have.
I have had plenty of builds that cost me more than the amount I expected to spend even after I doubled my budget - can't prepare for everything all the time.
