Hello I have a quick qusetion. I have a avh-1600. I bought the 24 pin adapter, steering control interface, parking brake bypass and metra 5817 and 5806. I don't have a sub and I know I'm losing my 6 disk in the trunk. Do I need to hook up the 8 pin and 16 pin plugs or are they left alone. Thank you

Per the Metra site both of those numbers are the radio install kits... which connector did you buy?

Looks like you need the 70-5520 connector for power and speaker hookup.

One of the kits (not sure which one) was only the mounting parts. The other kit came with a different mounting and the 24 pin plug only. They are metra but I bought off ebay(probably the problem)

70-5520 looks like it's just the plug. If so I already have the right plug. But what about the other two plugs 8 pin and 16 pin that are part of my oem harness. Are they unused

According to the wiring diagram, pin 8 is left front speaker (+) and pin 16 is not used. Why would you connect them?

On the OEM harness, one of the plugs is for the steering wheel interface and the other is for the CD changer. I don't know how many wires come off of each one, but they are smaller than the one that plugs into the radio for the speakers.

Yes thanks I kind of figured that's what the other two were for just wanted to make sure. So I'll need to wire my interface module to the plug on wiring harness?

My interface module just needed power, ground, interface and plugged into the 3.5mm port on the back of the headunit.

Cool I read the direction, i guess for our cars you use the white wire, power and ground like you said. Thanks again. Got the epoxy drying and will be doing some so drink this weekend. Figured while I'm at it I'll sound dampen and replace those orings in the eatc
