Well, the intake being twisted counterclockwise and down for so many years by the position of the airbox bent it into a certain angle. This new angle was fit my new intake, but angled it down so the radiator tube was level with the top of the heat shield, allowing hot air to flow over and resulting in a good amount of detonation and loss of acceleration.

I put this piece in the picture UNDER the intake using an existing bolt from the old airbox which in turn forced the heatshield it up about an inch, and my problem is solved!!! Hail the genius!

You know what they say: detonation is the mother of invention.

Ok...since I got a thicker one...this one snapped. I know what it is too! In Lowes or Home Depot they sell them and the U shaped end (the one with no curves, supporting) goes on a door...and you put hangers and stuff on it....No detonation anymore...the thicker one won't break, hasn't warpped and bent under the heat...and...was a $2 fix....man I'm good:up:
