It seems that my windows were tinted too dark for the sate of CT!!!:nono: IT really sux because the dark tint looks awesome on the marauder. On the lighter side, the officer told me that if he had a "bad ass" car like mine he would do the same tint  , however, to comply with CT law, i must have the windows registered by dmv.
I know that 35% is legal in CT, my windows are about 20%. I have heard that if your sensitive to light, with a doctors note (more likely an optricians' note) you can legally have the darker window tints. Does anyone know if this is true? Because i really dont want to have to peel my tints! I have 20 days to comply or my reg. gets pulled

Yeah, it sucks. As you note, these cars look fantastic with really dark tint. I'd like more than my 50%, but I just don't dare. I see cops scoping my car all the time, and I just know I'd get pulled over for it.
Pretty cool about the officer giving you props on your ride!

That really sucks! In NY I got away with just paying the $60 fine. No way I'm taking my tint off!

I had tinted windows on my Impala SS for years. It came from the dealer that way. When the city of New York started trying to fix its financial woe's they really started bustin chops. I was ticketed for each window. The officer claimed that I had a different shade of tint on each of the side windows so that was the reason for the four tickets. I dont know of anyone who would do such a thing but my word against his. After 2 years I got a check in the mail for 40 bucks stating that I was over charged or something . I'm no criminal, I have nothing to hide. The car looks really hot with the tint but it aint worth the hassel. Again, its not a safety issue its a money thing. reddog

I only did my rear windows. I know NY is 70% on the front windows which is super light!!!
FYI, I think that webpage is wrong for NY.
Here's the NY Law:
No person shall operate any motor vehicle upon any public highway,
road or street if:
6" inches frokm the top of the winshield:
""".....the front windshield of which is composed of, covered by or treated with any material which has a light transmittance of less than seventy percent unless such materials are limited to the uppermost six inches of the windshield; or"""
70% on front windows:
""".....the sidewings or side windows of which on either side forward of
or adjacent to the operator's seat are composed of, covered by or treated with any material which has a light transmittance of less than seventy percent; or"""
Rear Window can have less than 70%:
""".....the rear window of which is composed of, covered by or treated
with any material which has a light transmittance of less than seventy
percent. A rear window may have a light transmittance of less than seventy percent if the vehicle is equipped with side mirrors on both
sides of the vehicle so adjusted that the driver thereof shall have a clear and full view of the road and condition of traffic behind such
vehicle."""

So what they are trying to tell you is that the New York law states; for less then 70% it would be 71% or greater. Not, 69% or less, in other words technically speaking the NY law is worded wrong.

I wish I could get darker tints on my back window, but I was able to get away with 20% on the rearest (haha) window.
Get a perscription...tell your doc (your opt?) "This law sucks, and you know it! Common, it's for the better good!"

in jersey the law is nothing on the front strip, front windows but any % for the back windows and rear.
i have 20% all the way around.
i got pulled over for speeding once and the cop started talking to be about the car and ended up giving me a non-point ticket which was 1/2 the price of the
speeding ticket i could have gotten, not to mention the points.
another time, i got stopped for the windows but i drew attention to myself for hotdoging it around a truck. he let me off with a warning.
i said a marauder would look like a livery service/taxi/whatever if i do just the rears and back. he agreed.
