Ok so ive read the threads on taking these off multiple times but i must be missing something. I havent started on the "hard" passenger side yet cause the drivers side is not working with me. Heres what ive removed:

Wiper arms
Cowl
Wiper motor bolts
Tucked the three plugs away
Master cylinder
Throttle body
IAC
All bolts for the cover

The cover is loose and i can try and loft, but i cant get the back of the cover over the cams. I keep either hitting the lower plastic cowl thing (which i removed most the bolts for to get it to lift) or the brake booster. What am i missing?!

I think I read that someone loosened a motor mount and jacked up the engine slightly, does that make sense? Not sure if that is helpful or not as I am not a mechanic.

They said to do that to get the passenger side off. Everything ive read before i started made it sound like the drivers side will be no problem. But its turning out to be a huga PITA

No it doesn't. If you have to remove the booster your doing it wrong...

Youre right. The write up i read said to just pull the master cylinder, im guessing the person who wrote that called the brake booster the master cylinder too. It came right out after that. Ill do the passenger side tomorrow. Some people say jack up the motor, other people say its not necessary. What do you guys say?

not if you're hydroboost...easier to just remove it all. havent messed with a normal brake booster since the lighting. speaking of, guess i'll have to convert the marauder.

He isn't hydroboost so why even bring it up?

And no, the master doesn't get removed either.

Just roll it upward and out.

The passenger side is cake. Remove both 18mm engine mount nuts from the bottom, raise the engine with a floor Jack and piece of wood and place an impact socket under the passenger side mount and lower engine. This will let it come to rest tilted and the cover will once again roll upward and out.

So much miss information here anymore..

It's getting worse it seems. These aren't sn95/new edge mustangs...
It's sad really.

Not to detract from this thread but nice numbers on the dyno.

didn't have to remove the mount everybody has their own opinion .both cam covers came off piece of cake and off to powder coat ;)
but there's no need to remove brake master cylinder or booster.......

+1 Too much bad information...........

Drivers side is the easiest.... nothing else to remove....

Passenger side, all you have to do is remove the one bolt one the passenger side motor mount, use a short piece of 2x4 and a floor jack under the oil to raise the right side of the engine by about 2 inches.

Hydroboost??????????? I believe there is only one MM out there with it.... and the owner knows how to work on his car.....

Huh. Well im not sure why its easy for some people and difficult for others. Mine was 85% free but the rear of it would not come out whether i tilted, rolled, or anything else. The booster wasnt hard to remove and it made for plenty of room so im not mad about it. Passenger side has a lot less stuff in the way so ill lift the engine and get it off quickly i hope.

Thanks for the help everyone, no need to call it "misinformation" because it helped me get it out. Whether other people needed to do the same or not doesnt really matter. As long as it helps someone then its all good :)
