Hey Guys,

I get my new "too me" marauder next week, I already have an email off to lidio about a tune. I've hurd hes the man to talk to about tunes.

What mods are a must. Im willing to spend some coin on restoring this thing and add some modes that are really beneficial.

I was thinking of asking about a 87oct tune, does anyone have one? do you like it?

Thanks,
Ryan

4:10 gears, 93 octane tune (and handheld programmer), K&N or JLT intake (pretty much your preference), headers and full exhaust, stall and under drive pulleys. Those are most of the basic "bolt ons" per say. Best bang for the buck though is to gather parts and boost it. Good luck and enjoy!!

So you want an 87 octane tune for a car that clearly states "PREMIUM FUEL ONLY" whats wrong with this statement?

If Lidio does not reply, pm Martyo here at Mos Speed Shop. Lidio isn't active on the boards really any longer. 87 octane tune is a nono. Might as well put in a 2 valve then. Can tune for 91,92,93. Whatever is a available in your area.

Hes willing to spend some coin he said...not dollars.

OP: if you cant afford ~20 more cents a gallon for premium, then dont mod it. This cow has been milked dry. 4.10's, tune, CAI, steeda underdrive pulleys, larger exhaust set up with headers, etc.

PM MartyO for a tuner and tune, absolutely the best! Have delt with both, Marty is by far the better choice in my opinion. Customer service next to none!

Must haves...
4.10 gears
J-mod
CIA - most prefer JLT
Rear control arms and watts link if you want better handling.
Bigger brakes

Tons of info on the site, this has been covered many times also.

Well, I knew these comments would start coming. I already own two cars that need 93+, I live in ontario, its not 20cents more.... its $6-7 depending on the market for a gallon of 91 or 94 Octane. This will be my daily. I already have 2 race cars that cost enough.

If I can't pull timing to make it run on 87 or 89, then fine. I will pay for 91+.

I understand that for a lot of people on here this is there "fast" car. for me it is not. I'm not looking to make it quick, im looking for a great looking, comfy, nice car.

Thanks guys.

If your not looking to make it fast you could drop the gears in the rear to 3.27s and gain some MPGs. I've always been told timing can't be pulled enough, but I've pushed to make mine faster. They do make great DD's.

gears and a tune from Martyo!! best money can buy right up front. Then when you gather some more coin get full exhaust (preferably gold coins because that isnt cheap) lol good luck and congrats on the new car. I bought mine a few months with 88k miles runs like a champ and is my DD

"Real" Auto Meter gauges
LED lighting - helps modernize the car a bit and looks great
Good tires...

And as mentioned; 4.10s, tune, and a different air intake.

Honestly. A lot if the mods won't be as fulfilling with an 87 octane tune. I'm not sure what effects a 87 tune does performance wise. It's your car so tune as you wish, glad to it saved rather than sit around

Go to a meet, look at other cars, get a ride in someone's car with a tune then decide.

Looking back if I was just starting over again I would just get a roots style S/Cer , gears, CAI & a tune. With that being said I am about to get a bigger snail for the front of mine. :dunno: I can't help it. :)

Since you have other forms of boost, I would suggest a 91+ octane tune from martyo, Addco sway bars, metco control arms or Sparta control arms, jlt intake . To take it a step further go headers and exhaust and 4:10 gears

^this. Or, put that Whippled motor in the Marauder.

I will be doing a lot of the recommend upgrades, do you find the long tubes cook your feet? in the stang they melt my feet, even with header wrap on them.

Marauder is far from a Mustang in every way. Long tubes are awesome, with no adverse affects. If you staying stock and n/a, are modding based on results per dollar, I'd do the headers last.
4.10
cold air intake
tunes from Marty
suspension upgrades (all will feel better, do any you can)
SS lines and good brake pads.
these will make a well rounded car for low money.
