I want to start buying parts locally from T.O. but Need advice locally I found a set of c5 calipers but when I asked if they were 14" the guy said to me all c5 models use a 12.8" rotor. Is this right?

It's a GT500 rotor being used with the C5 caliper.

An hours work to switch back for winter months and save the wear and tear on the new set up! Plus it gives you a chance to refreshen paint and what not.

I used to run steelies but changed several years ago. Bought a set of 2010 18x8" Mustang GT wheels from AmericanMuscle ($139? each) and put snow/ice tires on them, 235/50 front and 255/55 rear.

I will be in on this deal, just waiting to build funds back up after having to pay $11k to have my septic system replaced last weekend.

If you currently have Baer Brakes, this is a cheaper option than replacing the ridiculously expensive 2 piece rotors.

You can use the GT500 rotor from then on, and never warp the cheapies again.

"ain't nobody got time for dat" :P

While that could be done it would be a first I've heard of somebody changing out rotors and calipers to go with the seasons, and then having to store the summer brake setup as well as wheels and tires....I'd almost rather pick up a winter beater.

? Perhaps I just take my car apart too much? Just figured four bolts and a brake line and problem solved.

I had fun driving with my steelies this winter. My trip to work is all highway. It was like driving a unmarked cruiser. Used mountaineer dog dish hubcaps, slapped a blue line plate on the front, blacked out the grill emblem and covered my rear embossing and stainless letters with glossy black vinyl.

Do they make 17inch steelies that would work with this mod or are 18s the minimum?

Newer CVPI cars came with 17" steelies. You can also use the 18" Charger Interceptor steel wheel, same bolt pattern.

I thought the Charger bolt pattern spacing was off a mm or two?

Sully008

Charger's bolt pattern is 5x115mm. It seems some people experience vibrations, others haven't. YMMV. Would love to get a set of 18" steelies to put on for winter storage to clear the bigger calipers.

Received mine within 3 days. They're beautifully done! And Jerry helped with a snag I had with shipping. He's a heck of a guy! Pictures of my install to come when the ordered calipers come in from the GM dealer (doesn't hurt to have friend I raced oval track cars with working at a dealer), and rotors already obtained from Ford. Can't wait to get an actual pedal feel with the finished product.
