My Marauder didn't fail but was rejected today. The Illinois air team is now testing the OBD Systems.I was told although my car has passed before. That this year Illinois has expanded their testing for any modifcations done to cars.
My test indicated that my Engine Misfire is not supported,Catalytic Converter EFF not supported,EGR not supported,Evaporative Control System not supported,Heated Oxygen Sensor not supported and Oxygen Sensor not supported.I have till June to correct these issues.I also see that my OBD indicator light status is OFF.
I had may car flashed when new and appreciate the improvements the flash had on my transmission shifting issues.
Do I need to restore to original factory setting to pass Emissions? Is this a simple fix?

Who's tune do you have? And do you have the factory tune on a plug in device? It takes a few drive cycles to get everything ready per say . Not just change it and go to emissions . Might have to drive it a week.
His pcm was flashed by Jerry W. back in 03 I believe.
Gary, you need to buy a tuner (preferably used) and have a stock file sent to you.
The tuner will save whats in the pcm now so you can load it in after the test.

I'd suggest MartyO's (MO's) tune and an SCT tuner.

This happened to me, see this thread:

BTW, I never liked the Dennis Reinhart tune, (trans shifting is terrible) but I don't drive the car much so I lived with it. :o
I'm starting to drive the 2004 Marauder more now, and I've been meaning to buy a new tune from Marty. He can expect an email soon. ;)

The lesson here is to be certain your tuner provides you a tune with all emmissions monitors on, and that you car has EGR, O2 sensors etc intact.

This situation brings my last Ranger emission test to mind...
I run an X-Cal tune from Justin at VMPTuning on my Duratec Ranger. I took it in for the "every-two-year" emissions test, and it failed miserably. No MIL, but every mandated test was "Not Ready" because of the tune being set-up. I had forgotten that I was running the tune.
So I reset the truck to factory settings, and drove it a couple of weeks. I took it to a different testing station and it passed with flying colors. (Then I took it to the parking lot, re-set the tune and shagged ass.)
Illinois is not only the most corrupt state in the union, but their emissions laws are the lamest; once a car is over 15 years old, or if it's pre-OBD, it doesn't get tested. But once it's 4 model years old, it gets the test, or you don't get license plates. So a 1994 stink-mobile can rattle down the road, puking soot and smoke without a problem. But if a blinking dash light burns out of an OBD car, it's essentially condemned. And, only the cars around Chicago and St. Louis are subject to this "emissions testing."

Agreed, its crazy, typically its the 15 year old cars that are the worst as they are so old they are not worth the money for the owners to fix up. Those pollute the most. Though I do appreciate the older cars not needing testing, can you image trying to get a 1970 to pass. In reality the collector cars are some of the best maintained cars anyway and barely used.
