View Full Version : LCM again? Fuse blows instantly.

The 15A fuse that takes care of my door locks, interior lights, clock and climate control blows up as soon as I put in a few one.
The fuse would blow when the passenger side door lock switch was used. I disconnected all door lock switches and the fuse still blows as soon as it goes it.
I was just told to disconnect EVERYTHING that is linked to that fuse. Start plugging stuff back in and whatever I plug in that blows the fuse, will be my issue.
Also, to take out ALL interior bulbs. I don't think that's it because I changed the fuse with the doors closed/interior lights off while hanging out the drivers window and it still blew instantly.
Any idea or do I really need to disconnect everything in relation to the fuse?
I was only thinking LCM because of the interior lights. Headlights still work, gages still work too, but not sure on this.
Thanks in advance for helpful information.

No. I haven't messed with anything. Normally, I would back track, but no work done recently. That's why I am in total loss.

It's going to a shop. An hour of troubleshooting was enough.

1 hour of troubleshooting an electrical problem is pointless..... weenie..... :P

Could be the wire to the drivers side vanity mirror.

I don't have patience anymore, I have "work" to do. ;)
Turns out I completely forgot about something. I took the drivers sun visor off to get it signed by The Sonics. I doubt anyone besides A_D_A_M knows who they are even if they got together in 1960.... When I went to install it, I must have pinched the wire to the lights of the mirror of the sun visor, which caused the short.
Took it to a shop, they asked if my mirror lights still worked and I was like... "Wow, I am so f-ing stupid!" That's what it is. 10 minutes later and $20 later it was good as new.
Who would have thought a sun visor wire could cause all of that havoc? Well, some would, but this is new in my world.
FIXED!
EDIT: Jim, you were correct. I wish I checked the site before I left the house!

A sun visor in your hands can cause all sorts of havoc. That is what I think!
