View Full Version : ProCharger F-1A IATS vs. Trilogy

To be fair, the F1 and upgraded 4" intercooler are close to new BUT is pulley'd to 28 #'s and the Trilogy had 65,000 miles roughly and stock Cobra heat exchanger.

With this said... At 62* I logged 68* at idle AND 45mph cruising. That's only a 6* difference!

The stock pulley set up on the Trilogy was never ever less than 25* above ambient, the 2.8 & +4 lower shot her up to 35/40* above ambient!

Blows my mind how cool this new set up is!

Also the 170* stat is doing its job and keeping her right at 176*

I am soooo NOT used to cool under hood temps. I'm more used to melting things such as my MAF, most anything light weight plastic, paint, even my two year old cam cover felpro gaskets where hardened and fused to the head in a couple spots!

This might just be the best boosted summer ever. I am so used to leaving the A/C off and just parking it altogether once I see 80*...

Taken at idle for over a minute:

Taken once stopped from two miles of a steady 40MPH cruise.

Now the money shot! Taken in 6th @ 70MPH.

YUP! ONE degree BELOW ambient!!! (Actually TWO as the temp was bouncing from 75-76)

WOW.

Also I'm clearly having an RPM issue as I can't seem to lower it from 992 on the Xcal (which is more like 1,150 on the tach) something I'll look into later.

This is one of the main reasons i went with the Centri setup , the IATs can't be beat! and that Procharger intercooler is the best you can buy short of custom fabbing one , and then theres the crazy power also.

Awesome man!
Had my Procharged set up given those IAT temps, I'd probably have stayed with it.
I'm hoping the killer chiller does the same for my roots.
Enjoy, your combustion will think it's a cool fall night every time you drive :)

I experience the same kind of IAT's with mine. Runs at or below ambient unless your parked at a light. Have seen 15-20* above with a lot of stop and go traffic on hot days, over 85*. Engine coolant temps up over 200* at this point so.... Have seen 125-130* on full throttle blasts. Comes right back down though!
Preferable for a daily I think.

That's great info. I was having this conversation with a friend that has an 04 Marauder with a Cobra swap. He's running 17 psi with a home ported eaton. I kept stressing to him how much heat that thing was blowing in his engine. No rear cooling mod either. He has spent a ton of money on this swap.

Wish we could get rid of the water to air in the intake. Air to air so much better than the terminator setup.

Anybody know how the Whipple fares in the intake air heating comparison?

Mine runs about 15*-22* above ambient depending on ambient temps......lower is lower....higher is higher.......never saw it below ambient though!!??

Dig the shifter. How cool is it when you are hot rodding around and dipping into boost?

Hate the factory sloppy shifter. I want to upgrade when I replace the clutch. Honestly, I am super glad I didn't try this blower when I was automatic. The ability to hit instant boost just like a roots at any speed makes this car a complete handful. I actually have to pay attention now! Seriously, I almost lost it once already just trying to pass someone and it got stupid before I could blink. I really enjoy it being a drivers car without the automatic, no traction control, no AWD, just four wheels and tons of power at my finger tips.

This car must be lots of fun to drive. I hope to see your marauder one of these days.

The same as the eaton at cruise speeds. There's just something bad about your cold water in between the banks of a 200* 8 cylinder engine.
