Can't find any threads are ceramic coating headers exhaust system essential? For $400-$600 that's a lot of $$$. I know they keep exhaust cooler and I think may prevent rust but I only drive it in the summer. I have seen cheap cans by vht but those cost only $15 and also heavy duty wraps. Do those suck.

IMHO...

VHT is paint so it won't last long.

Wraps trap water and lead to rusty pipes.... who wants rusty pipes????

True ceramic coating will keep the pipes a little cooler but more importantly the coating keeps more heat trapped in the pies so the exhaust scavenges better.

Agreed, most of those coatings rust and peel off over time, stainless works and Kooks are stainless steel and will outlast the car.

You hardly see the headers anyway. So if it's a cosmetic thing you're after it's even more of a waste of money.

When shopping, I found that local shops offer ceramic coating for around half the price as compared to name brand Jet Hot.

I have had 2 sets of coated headers never had problems with them. coatings never came off!!!

Coating still looks good on silver

But a whopping 44k on her so maybe not a fair comparison

I have 60k+ on mine and they still look good! No cracks either!

My Inside cabin temps are much lower and my iat Temps are Lowe well worth the 400.00
