SO, pulled the silver out, spotless, waxed, tires shined, car is spotless...

Decided to drive it to airport (22miles) and park it under covered parking lot.

On a freeway on ramp/merge, the idoit in front of me decided "merge" meant "slam on the brakes" for no known reason.

As I left adequate room in front, I gently moved left (around the moron in front of me), and the had to stomp on it, as the rest of traffic was now moving faster.

Admittedly. This section of the freeway concrete is smooth... But my (our) badass Marauder downshifted, roared, and broke loose... Got two or three full tire rotations, before it caught with a jerk and a really sharp and loud chirp. ( big new tires in rear and we were under an overpass that relayed the sounds). These cars NEVER stop amazing me.

I had almost every car who saw the idoit in front of mr, or saw my car's rear dance a little left, and then a puff of smoke, or heard the roar and chirp... Almost every car sped to catch up and give me a thumbs up, or sympathetic wave, or a positive head shake (regarding the dumbass).

What a car!

On a freeway on ramp/merge, the idoit in front of me decided "merge" meant "slam on the brakes" for no known reason.

The people in Northern Virginia are also merge challenged and do not understand how to enter the flow of traffic smoothly. Some seem to need 1/4 mile of open highway before they even attempt this highly complicated maneuver. This is aggravated by the right lanes snails who play the "don't let anyone in front of me" game at merges instead of sliding over one lane and let merging traffic coming from the right enter unobstructed. The Timid & Inexperienced will always slam on the brakes and wait for a huge opening before proceeding.

Glad you were able to avoid a problem. In this area, it is best to always anticipate the dumbest thing a driver can do around you .... then sit back and wait for him to do it. Bad drivers telegraph their intentions by drifting or slowing or tapping the brakes when they should be accelerating.
