View Full Version : opinions on Steeda Underdrive Pulleys

i was think of buying Steeda Underdrive pulley,s ,, part ## SDA-7010004 , i wondering peoples opinion of the product ?!?!?! they advertise 8-12 WHP. , are they a good built part,s?!?! does it spin your alternator to slow to trip a engine light at idle ,?!!? how much of a stereo system can u have with alternator reduction pulley ON?!?! i thinking MM have 130 AMP Alternator,s i just wondering if it a good product and buy for MM for around 230$$..

You will need a tune to bump your idle up with under drive pulleys, because your alternator spins slower. No CEL though. You do NOT want to put the alternator pulley on, your pulley is clutched keep the factory pulley on the alternator. There are a few alternator choices you can get for higher output units. UDPs are not bad if you are staying NA.
Not sure what mods you have but the best bang for you buck will be 4.10 gears and a tune.

thanks for the info , need up date profile , i have 4.10,s , Mo,s tune , Diff Girrdle, K&N CAi, , 2 1/4 EX all the way , NO CAT,s , XR-1 boral , and Magna Flow 3 1/2 tip,s no resenators.. i thinking , i might pass on this mod ,becasue of the alternator..

Excellent decision! if you ever go boosted the UD pulleys would have to come off anyway.
