This is just a really high octane fuel???

Hitchhiker...I think you'd inject it:lol:

Not according to whatit says. Notice that the site also sells 98% Nitromethane, and they do so in 55 gallon barrels. Looks like the real thing to me, unless it's one of the biggest scams out there.

So I guess you can't just put this stuff straight into your engine, there'd be modification of sorts?

No modification as long as you use the 20% Nitro and not the more potent stuff. ofcourse that's according to the website's claims. If you read through the site, it explains it all. I'm just very surprised to have read all of what it claims. the stuff isn't cheap though.

Wow...that IS pretty cool, I'd like to see some 1/4 mile times and such with it...

Where do you find this stuff? LAST time you were asking questions it was about SuperCharging...and look where that got you...just go buy a tank and let us know:lol:

Billy,
I didn't read through all of the descriptions. The 20% street formula is an octane booster/top end lubricant targeted for older engines requiring leaded fuel. Sounds like it would be good for that application! The only way to get hp increases from octane boosters is to retune the engine - ie increased timing to increase cylinder pressure & rejet to keep it cool!
I don't know how much it will help our MM's - but I have a '68 vintage 302 cid w/4v heads - 10.5:1 cr that would really like this stuff!

uh, the stuff can be purchased by contacting them on the # listed on the site, but I don't think I'm neccessarily going to be the first one in line to be mixing Nitromethane w/the gasoline in my gas tank in my daily driver.

Having a Supercharger is enough for me. Actually, I was kinda hoping that you would be the first to do this w/your dad's car. just think of how much more notoriety you'll gain on the board by being the first Panther driver to be running Nitromethane dragster fuel in your car!!!! :D

AAAAHHH! You haven't read the site very thoroughly. it states right on their that these all contain Nitromethane fuel in them. So according to their claims, this isn't simply regular automotive parts store octane boosters, and if you read on, you'll see that the second link I've provided you with n my first post clearly states that the 20% stuff is safe for 90's computer controlled engines. read on son...... :cool4:

Agreed. I have used nitromethane @ the dragstrip back in the late 70's. You only get the increase in power when you tune for the fuel!

I have no argument w/you there since I have never used Nitromethane fuels before. I was, and still am somewhat skeptical of the claims on that website. I wish I still had my old Vette just to try the stuff out for kicks. I'm just not ready to be experimenting like that w/my Marauder since it's my daily driver.

Nope, I just told him that it's always a viable option, and that it would be REALLY cool...but I got the whole money for college speech...only quelled by me telling him I was kidding;)

yeah right.........unless he told you "okay let's get some of that Nitromethane stuff and try it out"... and then all of a sudden you wouldn't have been "kidding". Right? :D

Nitro is not "High Octane" in fact it is very low octane, Nitro Funny cars and top fuelers are started on pump gas because of this. It's power comes from extream compression and the fact it is an Ox bearing fuel. even under extream compression it "Flame's Out" from time to time. Ever watch a race and somewhere in the run one or more "Pipe's" go out! this is because the cylinder has lost it flame front and stoped burning fuel. These cars also use extream timing events to produce power and the cooling effect of the Nitro allows this. I don't think there are any real street benifits to be had from this stuff and yes it is EXPENSIVE.
