Hmmmm, there will still be thousands of Marauder owners out there no matter what Ford/Mercury decides to do. Look at the Impala SS board. They have over eight thousand members there, they hold and sponser racing events all over the country, and their board is still thriving despite the fact that the last production year for the V8 engine Impala SS was 1996.

The way I see it, most of us here weren't completely satisfied w/the way Ford made the Marauder from the factory anyway, and that's why most of us here have chosen to modify the car to make it better. And many of members' cars here are still under warantee, however even that didn't stop them from modifications. Sure, the factory provided us w/a good base vehicle, and one that really looks great too. But just because the factory isn't going to be building anymore of these, doesn't mean that our enthusiasm, nor our hobby for this car will die.

Some of the members will bail but many of us will continue on, becoming increasingly isolated and bitter, until one day we snap and bring weapons to work ... Oops! I'm sorry, I thought we were discussing the new pay plan at work.
Nevermind.

Uh... This website ain't going anywhere. That'd be silly. The Classic Cougar went the way of the do-do bird back in 1973, and I still run mercurycougar.net too... :)
In short, don't worry about it. :)

It's funny that you mention the classic cougar. I actually drove one of those once and liked it. I had completely forgotten about that. Now, I guess I can't say that the MM is the only Merc I have ever driven.
LOL.
Still, it goes to show Mercs failure to reach my demographic in the last 15 years.
Best,

My wife's uncle has a 1969 Cougar XR-7 with a crank sunroof, 4 sp, and 390 that's been sitting on the ground for years just rotting away. Red, white vinyl top.
I should have bought that car off him many years ago before it started to deteriorate.

Don't worry, the resale value drops in as much time as it took for Ford to finish production from the start.:D
