My starter solenoid has gone bad, probably from the heat from my headers. Yes, I had it wrapped it heat tape.
My question is, is there enough room to get the solenoid screws off without removing the starter? That third starter bolt is a **tch to get at. It just happened and I don't have time to jack it up and take a look, and I want to get either the solenoid or the entire starter ordered right away.
Rock Auto shows a range of starters. I'm thinking the Bosch for $95 is a safe bet. Lifetime warranty. Any opinions? The Motorcraft for $183 is out of my price range. I can get a solenoid for only $22.
