Been thinking about getting a fire extinguisher in the Marauder, anyone here have one they keep in their car?

If so, where did you mount it?

Mounted in the trunk.

Be very careful about mounting or keeping in the passenger compartment.

You also need one that is big enough to work.

Trunk mounting is nice , but if your trunk is damaged , or disabled in an accident you have problems! which is why i also keep one in the car at all times.

I have my "emergency bag" that I keep in my car at all times and take with me on any long road trips or outings in other cars.

Its a small duffle bag with a fire extinguisher, a sizable first aid kit, flares, folding military shovel, a couple snacks and various other essentials.

The fire extinguisher has saved my Marauder once, the shovel has got me out a jam once or twice, and the first aid kit comes in handy for bandaids and asprin but luckily I have not had to use it in a serious situation yet.

Its also easy to pick up and transfer everything to another vehicle when I travel with friends/family.

Yes, and hopefully some one like you will come by to put out the fire.

Along time ago I had purchased a road emergency kit. The Lincoln Mark IV engine caught fire due to the negligence of a garage.

It was on a Saturday afternoon on the busiest highway in the area.

The fire extinguisher was "inadequate". I took off my blue jeans in an effort to smother the flames. When that didn't work I used them as a flag to flag someone down.

3 young teenagers stopped, nobody else would heck I was in my skivvies waiving my bluejeans next to a car on fire, in a pick up truck with a full size fire extinguisher and put it out. That was good because I was able to put my blue jeans back on.

A 1lb fire extinguisher is a joke! I wouldn't consider anything less than the 2.5lb.

Mine is a 2.5 pounder secured in the trunk. You need an extinguisher for judged car shows, it is not about actually for fighting a major fire.

Insurance policy says " In case of fire, run like hell".

Yeah, the Olds Club of America has that requirement at their national events. You have to display it next to the right front tire.
