Hey, I have a 04 Marauder and my transmission has been slipping for a while now. I dont have money for a rebuild and 4r75w seem hard to come by. Could I use a 4r70 trans in an 04 (until I build 4r75w). Is this a significant downgrade? Any other fords that use 4r75w I can swap? The 4r70 trans seem to be EVERYWHERE. or if someone have a 4r75w layin around

I just got a Ford remanufactured 4R75W for $1770 and a $150 mail in rebate. I will be installing it tomorrow.

Why?
It only costs 1200 to build one to handle 800horse

I don't have time to build one and I need it right the first time. I called my local dealership at work, got 600 off retail, and it was delivered to me the next day with a torque converter and fluid. If I had the time for the car to be down I would have pieced together a manual conversion. The 3 year unlimited mileage warranty is also nice.

No, it's for my DD. Car has 135k on it and I put 75k HARD miles on it, factory remanufactured trans is more than enough.

Jsut picked up a low mileage 08 CV trans. Is there anything I should do while its out of car? BTW the CV forums says these are pretty much jmodded from the factory. ... but chime in:rolleyes:

The electronics are different in an 04' trans verses the 08'.

the shift and TCC solenoid are the same... all you would have to swap is the EPC solenoid. other than that the transmissions are essentially the same internally between 04 and 08.

I dropped my trans off at DRC about 75 minutes miles north of me. Good for 800-1000hp.
A zillion local guys use him.
No problems yet

The D9 Cat. only has approx. 450 HP, it's the torque that gets the work done.

To rebuild mine was about 4Gs but will support 1,000 HP with TCI parts.
A cheap rebuild is not the best way if wanting more HP later.:)

What???
It's 1200-1500 to beef up a 4r70w
Add 1100 for a converter

In Canada things are more costly to get
It was more like $1,500 for the
high stall was $798.49
Drag clutches were about $200
New bands about $300
Deep Pan $175
Then add GTS & PST Taxes Cross Border Broker Taxes
Then 4Gs for rebuild new Servo,Gaskests,Starter Motor, about 16 lites of RP oil
Shop time GTS & PST Taxes
sorry to derail
