Yesterday I was selected out of 30 cars for a casting call for the new show on the History Channel called "Leepu and Pitbull". Basically the guy Leepu is a well known car designer who has successful shows in Europe and Pitbull is a master mechanic out of Long Island who builds the cars with his designs. The series premiere is Tuesday June 16th at 10pm after "Counting cars"
They wanted us to gather like it was a car show for a big reveal of a customers car. I wont post any pics of the car until it airs out of respect for the show and people who put it together.
Here's a aerial shot of the parking lot. I'm parked at the bottom left next to the pro-street corvette and turbo firebird. The custom car will be revealed in the middle left of the screen. The cameras were facing left and right so I think I have a good shot of having my car on camera. ;)

Basically it took almost 6 hours to record 15 minutes of film. The reveal and showing off the custom car was done in 4 takes, then they did 6 burnouts with different angles, inside the car view, reaction shots, customer reaction, crowd reaction, interviews, moving people around, glamor shots, showing all the features, and then the customer paying for the build. Pretty much took all day but it was cool to see how its all done behind the scenes. I stood in front of the crowd when they were doing most of the interviews so I know Ill be able to boo at the TV watching myself. :D
This was the #6 episode out of 8 and its set to air the last week in July so Ill be DVRing the episode.
Here's the trailer for the show.

Which model do you have? Tomorrow will be a month with the Roamio 4 tuner. Previous was a Premier 4 since 2010. Hard Drive crashed then I think the power supply went bad so lost 800 gigs (internal + extender) of stuff 99% full.
Ouch!!!

Wish that they would have shown a little more of the cars and people in the "Car Show" lot. Congrats Paul !!!
JMHO on the show. It has to be a put-on or a joke. I don't hold out much hope that this show will last much beyond the original planned 8 episodes if it even lasts that long. The show should be retitled "Two Jackasses with a Sawzall".
Who agrees to a price of $11,000 without knowing what will be done to the car ? The owner specifically said not to screw with the body. His original budget was $9,000. After watching the show, he now knows that the job actually cost $8,000 and that the shop made $3,000 (27%) profit on the job after covering parts and labor. At his original budget, the shop still would have made a decent >10% profit.
Watching them pull the original engine and then squeeze in the LS1 was painful to watch .... sort of like sausage making. Plenty use of a BFH. Quality of parts is highly questionable ... especially that transmission with well preserved rust and corrosion inside and out. Let me know if the truck is still running in 12 months or even next week.
Who times a 0-60 MPH run from a spinning start ??? Three times ???
The owner overpaid on this job by $2,200. The extra cash went into the shop's pockets. They took his money and disregarded his direction on the body. Yet he says he is happy. :shake:
The finished product didn't look too bad on TV .... how did the body work look in person Paul ??
JMHO

Yeah so 8 hours of my time for maybe 4 seconds of screen time.:D
Everything about that show was scripted and took several takes. The part where he said "I dont like it....., I love it" was coached and done 8 times to get the take. They brought the truck into the lot 6 times to get the perfect take, they also did the burnout 8 times that on the last two attempts, the rear started making a clicking noise. We also attempted to get both wheels spinning with armor all on one attempt which actually worked, except poor Sonny almost put the truck into a fence when the truck hooked and pulled left.
As for the truck in person, LOTs of issues!!! The paint had sand marks all over the place, the stickers on the side had air bubbles, the grill was bent in several directions and looked like hell, nothing worked in the truck. The dash gauges, lights, and even one of the brake lights didn't work. They claimed that the cameras were leaving to go to Europe so they rushed the truck out to video to make the deadline for the show.
I spoke to the owner of the truck after the cameras were off and I asked his honest opinion. He wanted a CTS-V truck, that was the theme he was aiming for in the design. What they delivered was not what he wanted at all. He hated the wheels, annoyed that nothing worked, no Cadillac design besides the taillights, he wanted the A/C to work, but nothing was hooked up, he also was unhappy with the color. I'm not sure what the deal was that they made to get the truck completed before the filming, but they didn't live up to his expectations. I saw Sonny last night at a local car meet along with Steve Pitbull, the truck wasn't there though. I wonder if he even was able to keep the truck in the first place. After seeing how much "reality" goes into "reality TV", it turned me off to any of the other car build shows out there. Every line on that episode was coached and scripted by a producer that was calling the shots between takes.
They kept saying that the truck wasn't completed and will be sent back and then given back to Sonny, I don't see that happening. Steve Pitbull even said out loud they he didn't know the truck was even in his shop until the day of filming.
For the experience, if invited again I would no doubt go to be part of the taping, but do not believe what you see on any of these reality TV shows.

Thanks for the reality check on reality shows, Paul.
I assumed there was a lot of post-production editing but didn't realise it was this bad.

Lol! It's amazing what goes into a show or a movie for that matter. I was an actor in a low budget movie in 2006. The retakes sucked! One scene no one realized that the air conditioning in a bar we filmed at was so loud it overshadowed the actual audio. We had to all come in and do our line over while watching our lips move on the film. PITA! Cool though, I'd do it again. :) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0795416/)

I waited, DVR the episode, suffered through those guys faking everything about the truck build, and no MM. Really - the entire front end was still rough cut, and it 'needed to be in paint tomorrow!'. Then - poof! hood edges are rolled smooth, triple color side stripes, gaps pretty good, sure.
No fault of the OP here, but -
I want my hour of life back.:shake:

I DVR'd the episode but only got around to watching it now. Pretty stupid show. But I did see you and Voula in the background quite a bit and I did see your Marauder in the background a couple shots. I took pictures of it while my DVR was paused but not sure how good the quality is.
The first shot of you guys is right after this Chevelle pulls in the parking lot:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/Mebot/Mobile%20Uploads/20150721_172849_zpseus5ikrh.jp g
It's real quick maybe a 1/4 of a second but definitely looks like your Marauder and tell Voula I apologize for the unflattering pic

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/Mebot/Mobile%20Uploads/20150721_172922_zpspcvvx0hf.jp g
The next shot is when the white Corvette is backing into the spot but totally can see your front end here:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/Mebot/Mobile%20Uploads/20150721_172419_zps97rh7hq3.jp g
This is probably the best shot from the show. You can see you, Voula and almost a full shot of your Marauder:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/Mebot/Mobile%20Uploads/20150721_172957_zps37p8f0fv.jp g
This shot quality sucks but it was when Leepu and Pitbull were pulling in with the S-10 and the camera was panning across from right to left. You can see your Marauder parked all the way to the right:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/Mebot/Mobile%20Uploads/20150721_173236_zpsq5wvsrkt.jp g
Finally the last shot in the show I saw of your Marauder was when Pitbull and Sonny were taking the S-10 for the drive. You can see the rear quarter and wheel of your Marauder behind the white Corvette in the background.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/Mebot/Mobile%20Uploads/20150721_173638_zpsr0len7tb.jp g
I did see you and Voula quite a few times in the background. Congrats on being famous!
