Why does this pump keep losing its prime? It's down to twice in one week.. I have a pressure tester to get its prime back ....what is a better pump to use so this won't happen again

That's the only that is used by Ford in most if not all there intercooler applications.

Might not be the pump it's self.

It's not the pump. Looked for leaks or kinked lines. You may have to start the process all over again to rid the system of air.

I think the pump is fine, I remember a post not long ago about keeping an Intercooler pump primed. There were tricks or domething. Someone will post it up when they read this, martyo or zack or justbob should know what's going on

By moving the hose so that any air will just bubble up the hose to the reservoir, this is no longer an issue and you always have prime. In pic 1, the air is stuck at the inlet with no where to go.. if you loosen the intake clamp it will escape and prime is restored, but that is a high point and air will collect there. In fig 2, you remove that high spot and now the reservoir is the high spot, so no air collects.

I've had good luck just squeezing all the hoses all over repeatedly with the key on.
