Widened pvd chrome/black chrome wheels!

They are the guys who have done my other sets and I am very happy with their work.

Q1.) Does the current condition of the wheels matter (assumes no major damage)?

Q2.) With wheels in less than great shape, do they become fantastic with the black chrome coating process?

Q3.) How are the welds inspected to ensure they are good/strong?

Q4.) are the rear set widened 1.5 inches?

Detroit wheel takes care of any minor blemishes before the pvd process. If there are any they deem more than minor they repair and charge accordingly.

Yes

I have no idea. Weld craft has been doing them for years. This is the fourth set they have done for me. I have never heard of anyone having an issue with their workmanship.
They also inspect the wheels before widening, if they are not up to par they will not widen them.

Yes

Could swing a deal where I'd get these pvd'd. You drive up-swap tires and you only pay for the pvd and tire swap (as long as your wheels are widened and run true). No cash to me, just lunch :beer:

That is an interesting proposal. My rears are widened by Weldcraft (wherever Lidio had them done, previous owner had him get them when he had Lidio do Trilogy install)

I know I don't want regular black marauder wheels , do like the PVD chrome , but really want to see if black chrome is out of place or not on silver birch

I think black chrome would look good on a silver birch ! Even more so if chrome trim around side windows was done also. Not really silver to my eye, fair amount of violet in the mix. But then what color to paint the calipers ?? IMHO I'm a computer dummy , but an 8 year old should be able to photo shop easy :D I get kids next door when my computer doesn't work just saying :rolleyes: It would tone down the rims without truly going black. i have procrastinated long enough. with no need for these myself i sent them out earlier this week. monday or tuesday i will have to make the call on regular or black chrome.

fyi: i decided to go all out and have them shave the weld and polish the inner barrel of the wheel so it will all be shiny
