I got an extra set of MM style wheels off a mustang and i want to do something a lil off the radar for my extra set. black and black Chrome have been done to death (not knocking those who have them) so i want some color. Anyone have a set powder coated, painted, plastidipped some crazy color? I was looking at PVD options, i kinda dig gold but i just know i would bug me not to have gold letters in the rear bumper. I thought about copper too. I keep coming back to blue anodized look. i always loved the blue anodized wheels on the 35th anniversary TA. my calipers are getting painted silver so its not like the wheels will clash with red or yellow, etc..

I love the chrome and will probably still roll them most of the time but i just wanted something a lil loud.

car is black. In theory all colors go with Black or White. On a Marauder though tough call. Do you have access to a photoshop program. Might help if you could test your selection before you commit.:)

i'm kinda just looking at black cars in general with different color wheels. my buddy seems to like copper. i'm looking more at something off the wall. who knows i may hate it. the wheels are curbed up so i dont have a large commitment to them. i just wanna stay away from dark colors like black i really am not a fan of solid black wheels on anything. i think all black loses the style of the wheel. black with a polished lips is nice but the MM wheels arent a style that would work with that look.

i would say my leader in the clubhouse at this point is blue chrome.

I personally like the look of dark gold; I think Dodge calls it Brass Monkey for the Hellcats.

I do not think I could respect any colored wheels on a black marauder. Stock, chrome and black are all ok, but no way on anything else. Maybe if you did body color match on a red or blue car that might be ok.

Post pics when your done, I am interested to see how it might turn out.

I think this is the only other color I like with black but not sure how it would look on a 5 spoke. 41707

Gunmetal would look good on a black car.

Could always sell them and get a different type of wheel.

Gun metal , black, black chrome ...they are all ho hum to me. Not what im goin for. Again, this in not to rock all the time but just something to throw on once in a while for something flashy.

I can appreciate the idea, but to me it will look too ricer..They do that all the time. red rims, lime green, yellow, purple etc..Just my opinion, not trying to derail..maybe just get those wheel lights or whatever that spin/glow when moving. with a color rim being the only color on the car it will look out of place without a corresponding accent. Maybe try just the spokes and leave the rim part aluminum or vice versa..something like that. And there was/is a member that powder coated or painted his rims and left the out rim edge width polished and it looked pretty good.

I hear you on the ricer but at the same time why do they get to have all the fun with wheel colors? No one will know until its done. Im willing to try it.

Here is another idea. This marauder rim is either the 03 non polished fullsize spare and polished the little areas or it was glass beaded in the areas not wanting the shine. but it gives an idea of keeping the marauder rim and maybe just adding some color in a smaller area rather the the whole rim.

Thats certainly an idea. I think that would make them look more aftermarket

personally, lime green wheels on a black car looks kinda dumb to me or yellow or red etc..That's my preference on the subject. I don't consider it being fun and I have a ricer a WRX and it wont see colored rims..ever from me..just steelies in winter for snow tires and stock wheels for summer. Is my DD commuter as I drive 350 miles a week

Much like women's fashions, there's a lot of stuff that looks good on the smaller ones that doesn't look right on the larger ones . . . . ;)

I could get behind the idea if you maybe did a color scheme, ya know add some subtle clean touches of the color to the rest of the car.

ie. Orange wheels, orange Marauder Lettering, orange pinstripe, or whatever color you decide on. maybe find some other tasteful ways of scheming the car.

Really have to be careful how much bright/pastel colors you use or you can quickly make yourself look like a taxi.

Ricers get to have all the fun with colored wheels because they don't understand that flashy does not equal classy.

I think of the Marauder as a very classy car to start out, and putting flashy wheels on the car just for fun is not classy.

.

When you mention orange, FastNino comes to mind with his orange Marauder. I don't have any of his pics but you can certainly search the threads for some of his posts.

If I were to add any color to the stock wheel, it would be accents only. Highlight some nooks and crannies but leave the big bold shine.
