I moved to California about 6 months ago, and I need to get my Kenny Brown Marauder smog-tested in California and licensed. Does anyone have any advice on how to get that done while complying with the modification-unfriendly California CARB rules?

(Kenny didn't have a CARB number when he built the car.)

Did you mean Kenne Bell? If so, there is no CA CARB certificate for 2003-2004 Marauder for any blower except Vortech. All other blowers will fail CA Emissions inspection. Thus is why ADTR offers Vortech.

No. Kenny Brown

I don't see how a legitimate dealer such as Kenny could sell something that meets the U.S. EPA requirements and not get a pass thru CARB???

Good question. I'm dying to hear how the Nazis can get away with this.

Not kenne bell, Kenny brown from Indiana built marauders with a Paxton blower and other mods as a package back when the cars were new. Kenny brown is similiar to Steve saleen and Roush etc

CA CARB costs big money to get this why he didn't seek it. Same as why Trilogy did not either plus he did not make the blower , he just made a package with it

Vortech has a Marauder CARB number. Paxton has a CARB number but it only lists the Mach 1 so it will not pass the visual inspection.

It costs money to get these superchargers approved by CARB so looks like only Vortech bothered to do that for the Marauder. Trilogy did not (I guess because they didn't think enough of us in Cali would make the investment worth it?)

Do you still have the original window sticker? Tell California that's how it came when you bought it new.

You cannot 'tell CA Emissions' anything. They look up the car and will find only one CA CARB cert.: Vortech. Said cert. Must be displayed on the blower.

Some members have said getting 500 hp for a Marauder is easy. To pass CA Emissions and get 500 or more hp requires much effort.

To clarify: Kenny Brown. Talked to them and they said it was a $200K+ effort to get a CARB certification. It's a Vortech blower. And I found a CARB certificate for the Vortech: "D-213-20" - Google it.

I've heard that some California residents license their cars in Nevada, but I have no idea how to make that happen.
