Hey Guys
Have a buddy that owns a junk yard. One of these just came in. its in great shape. What should i be robbing of this car?
Things i need/want
Windshield-Need
Window Switches and Regulator Drivers and Passenger-Need
Compressor-Need
Air Bags/rear Shocks-Want/Need
Stereo, Better door speakers plus tweeter-Want
Auto Close Trunk-Want
Rear backup sensors-Want/Even Have?
I plan on replacing all of these things anyway, just wanted to know if i could save some money since I'm already 6k into this car and it still needs paint work and all the above listed.
Also, if there is anything else you can think of that i should take off the town car that I am not listing, let me know.
Thanks.
I'm not sure but I don't think that the windshield is the same.
The window switches are not the same.
The air springs are not the same rate unless it is a livery package or limo prep car. You can tell by the cone on the bottom of the spring the color denotes the spring rate. Black is the stiffer ones as used in the Marauder and natural/beige is the softer rate. They do interchange so you can use them. The stock shock rate is also softer on a Town car.
The window regulators and air suspension compressor are a direct fit.
Not sure what it would take to instal the auto trunk motor and back up sensors. I do know you'll need the control module for each as well as what ever wiring between the them. What it will take to interface them is unknown, I don't think I've heard of anyone that has done those additions. You'll need to get access to the TC and Marauder wiring diagrams and sit down and figure it out.
If you do go about adding the power trunk be sure to document the procedure and post it here. I for one wouldn't mind adding it to mine if it doesn't require too much work.

I have been driving all kinds of Panthers for over 15 years and have never needed parking sensors. I've seen some aftermarket parking sensor kits, but I've never looked into it because I'm a man and don't need them to park a car.
As for a lot of the other stuff, it is Towncar specific parts so a lot of stuff won't transfer over.

Windshield and window switches are different.

The TC trans is the longer tail shaft version used in the CVPI and Marauder. Different shift valve springs inside, but with a J-mod hard to tell any differance at all. Have to stay same year though 03 for 03, 04 for 04.

I had to repair the backup sensor on my Town Car and there are too many parts to make if reasonable to add to a Marauder. Just buy an aftermarket kit. Works the same and in the end will be easier to install.
If the car has a working driver seat auto exit feature that would be something to grab. You will need the entire rear seat mechanism.
Most Town Car parts are less desirable than Marauder parts. I have placed alot of Marauder parts on my Town Car. I have not added Town Car parts to my Marauder other than door seals from a 91 Town Car and trunk carpet from a 98 Town Car.
