so someone made a video walking around my car.
While I hold my brake longer than 2 seconds, the CHMSL (only) strobes until brake is released - did someone mod it to do this? how?

I'm about to convert my tail/stops to LED - hope this doesn't mess it up.
thanks!

Yes this happened to my CHMSL when I upgraded the lights. FastBlackMerc did the upgrade so he can speak more to the technical part, but it would flash a couple times when I pressed the brake. Something to do with the resistor or something similar.

Can't stop the signal...

hmmm, I'm thinking my lights are still stock. And it flashes forever, until I let off the pedal.

I have a FBM upgraded CHMSL and tails in LED to install.

guess I'll just swap and see....
it's actually pretty cool!

The flasher I install will flash rapidly for a second or so, then flash two or three times then stay on solid.

I'd be interested in seeing what is up with yours.

I'll make a short video and post. The one he made is too large a file.
My center light is flashing for over 5 seconds in the vid before I lift off the pedal, and when he started filming the back, I was already on the brakes sitting in drive. I roll forward, press the brake again, and it flashes from start until let off.

Just post the video on YouTube and link it

OK, stupid video, enjoy the view, but just tried making a shorter one in my garage, came out all glare = dark out.
Even this posted pretty faintly from the sunlight.
Notice between 0.42 and 0.50 the flashing. I had been sitting in drive on the brake while he was filming around.
I just wanted him to get back in the car and leave, no sound, crappy camera :(
Then look for the flashing after I move at 2:00 and in reverse. It def flashes full time with my parking lights on and in reverse.
Weird.

Did you ever take the CHMSL out and see what is there? The flasher, if installed, will either be a small box about the size of a match box or a flat shrink wrapped panel. Both will have wires coming out of them.

no, the car has been off the road for over a month.
I may not get my mechanic into the car again this year :depress:

If we get in, I'll post up the findings.

I think this came up once before..... it's illegal to flash your CHMSL, while you may never get stopped for it, wait till an accident and fatalities are involved, and people and insurance companies look for a scapegoat..... just sayin'...
