Some members have extended the non res tips out the back by another 1.5 to 2.5 inches, to get the sound out from under car.

My black has this. Slight bellowing (not quite a drone) at one rpm... But not a drone. Might try this, as tips are hard to find.

You mean like this? Or more than that?

I don't think extending them further than that will help. Not sure the OEM resonated tips will help either. I think I still have mine in the garage but they will need some cleaning and a good polish.

Do ya have Flowmasters on your car??

I had flowmaster 40 delta flow.

Now I have Black Widow Venom 250s. Still drones at 1390RPM (and a little bit at 1900-2000) but since sound deadening my trunk/rearseat and getting the black widows its tolerable on the highway (actually now its just the black widows are so loud! lol very little drone on the highway). Now its just cruising around town as the drone is right where the engine spends most of its time when mildly accelerating (1350-1450 RPM).

Heres some vids. This is with the Flowmaster 40s, I haven't taken any vids yet with the Black Widows.

I'm pretty sure the drone is coming from the tail pipes. I've read lots of guys fixing the drone with resonators in the tailpipes but there is no room for that and the tips. In comes the OEM resonated tips!

Local shop is saying its because I took the cats out and went with 2.5" pipe (manifolds -> h-pipe -> mufflers -> tailpipes -> 3.5"x18" tips). So... try the OEM tips, I want the longer length anyway for the look. After that... I dunno. Try magnaflow 18s or get the magnaflow 2-1/2" catback :(

Remove the flowmasters and get some dynamax super turbos. You can thank me later.

Mufflers with "Reflective" sound control with have resonant drone simply because the sound bounces back and forth in the box!!:argue:

Straight through mufflers are less prone to cabin drone!!
