What do you guys think of a Marauder Challenge Coin?

Would probably have the gods head on the front, some writing on the back.

This is what a challenge coin is:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge_coin

Some examples:
https://www.google.com/search?q=challenge+coins+pictu res&biw=1680&bih=953&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=TZWeVe6SLsi5-QHYqoS4BQ&ved=0CDYQsAQ

If we can get 300 or more committed, the cost could be less than $10.00 per coin.

I don't need a "challenge coin" to prove membership. I can show the spreadsheet and receipts for what I spend on my hobby cars.
This will either:
A) get me in to a mental health rehab center
B) give proof to Joanne's lawyer that I should be committed
C) prove that I intend to leave nothing to my children when I die

Something like the "design" that Blackened300a used for the Carlisle 2015 T-Shirts would be nice. Words and Godshead on one side. MM Burnout on the other. I'd add a couple of those to my collection. Might be a nice trinket in the MV13 Goodie Bags in Las Vegas.

What if I produced my MM leather jacket to answer a challenge? What would one be challenging anyway? My time slips, RWHP, whether I got boost and so on.

Concept is interesting but let's do something other than another "God's Head".

Maybe a commemorative medallion to recognize certain membership qualities of this select group. Like number of years of consecutive ownership, level of modifications, ad infinitude.

We would need a design first. One submitted to an appointed or elected committee chaired by Dan.

I'm in.

Good luck, make it good or I'll do my version :P

The one activity that is known to the MM.net members is Marauderville. A medalian based on the universal acceptace of Marauderville as a unique experience. Not any particular one just the idea of Marauderville and what it means to this community.

I'm partial to something with a gods-head. Must also say Mercury Marauder.
I don't see the car as part of the design.

Here is an image I developed for last years Louisville as an idea for a possible medallion.

The script of course would be different. Across the top 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder.

Across the bottom could be "Big, Bold, Aggressive"

The reverse side I don't have any suggestions yet, other than
"Your SRT is Fat".

that's a cool design! All the popular modification images...
across the top: "MERCURY MARAUDER"
across the bottom "WELCOME THE MADNESS!"

reverse side top" 2003-2004 Limited Production"
reverse side bottom "for limited buyers only"
center = godshead

It was actually an idea Brian presented to me at Louisville a couple years ago.

He should chime in, I believe his idea was a wheel on the back side and an emblem on the front that would include the year or event number.

I think this should be a "universal" design.... not tied to any specific event.

+1 Also should not be tied to any one Marauder forum. Something iconic.

I think you misunderstood my point. ...someone , I think Bluerauder, mentioned that maybe the coin could be similiar to the 2015 Carlisle t shirt design which includes "mercurymarauder.net". I was just suggesting that the coin not reference any particular forum. ;)

Of course I agree, it's Jim's idea and if he wants to have mm.net on the coin, it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

I was think just "MERCURY MARAUDER" and "2003 - 2004" with maybe a picture of an MM on the front or the picture of an MM wheel doing a burnout. On the back maybe some stats of the MM... 11,052 made, 302HP, etc. Just a thought. I'd like to get more ideas.

I'm trying to figure out if it would be possible for me to put it on a bracelet. (Would love to if possible. Prolly depends on what size the coin will be.) Anyway, thanks for looking into doing this.

When I finished my cancer treatment, the proton therapy facility gave out Challenge Coins. It's pretty cool if you read the story of how they originated, going back to World War I. If I had more time I'd take a pic to show you. Basically the coin works like this...You're out tossing back a few and another member just happens to enter the same place...he sees you and taps his coin a few times on the bar or table...you see him now, take out your coin and tap back. Now the rule says if you tap your coin and he can't respond because he doesn't have his coin with him, he buys you a drink. If he does respond, you buy him a drink. If a bunch of us are together, it's chaos. It's fun....I might be able to do better on the pricing

Probably a pretty "gaudy" bracelet. Challenge Coins are typically about 1.5 inches in diameter. Some a bit larger; but not by much. 1/8 inch thick. I have a bunch from military organizations/commanders/GOs just jammed in a memorabilia box collecting cobs. Never got around to displaying them in one of the racks/cases that are available at the PX.

No matter what, I'm in for the coin. It's a great idea.

I made a very basic crude idea of a coin design. Instead of making it MM.net based, you can make it general to all Marauder owners to broaden your customer base.

A bit of a contradiction. Likely because I've been involved with them so long, I still think of all Marauders as all Marauders. You know, from 1963 to 2004 (maybe even going back to the 1958 engines). Yes, I know I'm the exception, not the rule, but I just had to point it out. I love my '03, but love the '63 a whole lot more.

I'm on the fence about a coin, but would be more interested if it wasn't limited to the 2003-4.
