My Marauder ran hot about a month ago due to me running a/c all day. I let it sit for a while and put coolant and water back in then gradually came back to normal. Yesterday I tried runnin the a/c again, today its running back HOT. Thermostat and water pump are about 45 days old(kinda new still). Is it time for a New radiator:confused:

Did you install the thermostat correctly?

Did you burp the system after doing the water pump and thermostat?

Why did it lose coolant? The cooling system is a closed system and any loss of coolant is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Fix the coolant loss then burp the system using this procedure:

What brand T-stat did you use? Some T-stat brands say they are for the Marauder but do not work correctly for our cars.

Thanks for the help... Ima try the burping method tonight. Should I drain coolant and start or just add to the hole on hose with 1/4 wrench hole?

Also I brought the thermostat from autozone, either a valuecraft or duralast. 188° or 196° cant remember. Is there a website I can order a cooler durable thermostat made for Ford cars?

Make sure there is enough coolant in the overflow tank, then just fill thru the crossover tube fitting.

Thermostats:
NAPA: 192-195 degrees – THM234
Motorcraft: RT-1110 (190 degree)
Stant: 14089 (188 degree)
Gates: 33029 (188 degree)

This is the one I run. Have never seen my ScangaugeII go over 182 degrees yet. It is the most expensive one listed.

Others may not do this, but I like to jack the front of my car up then do the burping precedure. Never had an issue. May be overkill, I don't know

The Reisch burping procedure says to elevate the front end slightly.

I have the original DR rear cooling mod and I never have problems burping.

Well I did install musclemercs cooling mod the only time I've ever had the cooling system open. I did use Reisch's hose routing as well.
