Time to start posting up the ROUTE you are going to take to VEGAS!

This is so our many friends can meet along the way and caravan from ALL DIRECTIONS, and also provide a chance for those who cannot make it to VEGAS to meet along the way.

Most of the Seattle Crew will probably come down I5. WA, OR and long way through California to LA and then over to Vegas.

Another route is 80 over to Reno and 395 South

Either route, I am leaving from Sacramento Tuesday AM EARLY... because I will not be able to sleep - I am so EXCITED!

Pretty sure our route has us heading towards Boise, ID then straight down through Nevada. It's not an interstate but I don't know what the number is

Those cutting thru northern California should look to go thru Bakersfield
to Barstow then 15N to Vegas.

I go the 405N to 5N to 14N to Pearblossom HWY.

Turn Right on Palmdale Road.

Then you turn left on to the 38 to Victorville.

Get on 15N in Victorville.

About 250- 270 miles to Hotel
3:10 - 3:45 Total Time

US93 and I84 are definitely not the scenic route, but at least it's highway speeds... you could possibly do it straight thru with no overnighters. :coffee: Those coming from CA might want to check out the DOT website before heading down I5. The last I heard there was a major detour out of SoCal to Vegas, because the rains and flooding washed out a bridge on I10 at Desert Center CA.

Those planning on going to Costco for Gas in Vegas note:

It's off Martin Luther King Drive and is about 10-15 miles north of South Point. They are a Business Center and close at 5:00pm Saturday and are closed all day on Sundays.

There is a Costco in Henderson (and Summerland) , but I have never been to either. The Henderson Costco might be closer.

If you're heading west on Route 40 through Amarillo, TX, Cadillac Ranch is just off the highway. You can even see it from Rte 40.

http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2220

Bring a can of spray paint and leave your mark on a Caddy!!

Directions: Just west of the Amarillo city line. I-40 exit 60. Drive south to the frontage road (old Route 66), then turn left. Drive east one mile. Cadillac Ranch will be on the right (south) side; just park your car along the shoulder and enter the pasture through an unlocked gate. Visitors are encouraged; dog friendly. - See more at: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2220#sthash.beQGFZ81.dpuf

We should reach out to Chilton since he is coming for the video and photos, right?

I'm planning on leaving on the 15th. My brother will be sitting shotgun. I can certainly wait at the Rally's in Los Banos (we might grab some fries for the road) to sync up if that is easier for you. I realize it will take you a few hours to drive down from Sac-town. I always stop in Calico for a bite or soda. I can give you my cell number.

Yep! Where ever you want on I5, probably better for me about 3 hours in or so, so Los banjos is about right. Fries for the road... I love it! What time do you want to leave?

I was thinking about trying to be at Rally's http://www.rallyshamburgers.com/ to grab some famous french fries at maybe 10. Then try to eat at Calico House Restaurant just before 5. http://cms.sbcounty.gov/parks/parks/calicoghosttown.aspx

The website says they open at 8 AM. Maybe they serve breakfast also? Its a fast food chain but they are famous for thier seasoned French Fries.
