Hi all,

When my bumper was repainted I think the shop may have created this bend where before it was very straight along the side. The other side is still perfect. I'm bringing it back for them to improve the paint finish where the plastic was repaired and want to advise them to see if this can be corrected. I think there is amounting bolt behind the curve but not sure. Is there any trick to getting it to lay properly?

i remember seeing a thread, but this addressed the area under the taillights. I can't find the link, but perhaps someone else can

Common problem as there is no support behind that area.

Wedge styrofoam in there to "pooch" it out.......works fine!!

Thanks guys. The shop has the car and will take first stab at correcting this. I hope they don't have to repaint again!

The body shop resprayed my bumper to correct the shrinkage which came out nice, but they did not address the bend on the side. It wasn't there before they took it off last spring, but at this point I've had them redo the whole job so the rest is up to me.

So to get it opened up to push something up in there to support it form the inside, do I only need to remove the lower fasteners along the bottom edge of the one side? Then push up some styrofoam? or packing foam material?

Any pics or advice is appreciated.
