When Joann and I drove the new SB to get a radio installed I noticed the passenger seat seemed loose and made popping noises. I checked the seat mounting bolts and they were pretty tight. Anyone know what else may cause this problem?:help:

Is the flap on the front of the bottom cushion off? I had both front seats tore down and had the bottom cushions reinforced & they feel brand new now. Also there were some straps that came undone. I had the popping noise b4 and now it's gone.

The flap just holds the cover to the frame.
Probably the springs are moving and shifting.

I guess I should have added that I can actually see the seat shifting forward and backward and the popping noise sounds like metal brackets slipping over bolts. It could possibly be the flap making the noise but not the seat shifting around.

My drivers seat squeaks on the bottom seat cushion tried spraying some lubricant under the seat on the springs , didn't work guess I'll have to live with it :-( other people have the same issue ?

Sounds like the frame maybe broken.

Or the bolts that mount the frame to the rails may be loose.

Have a similar issue in my SB drivers seat but only when Mr. Man is in it. He took the seat out thinking it was a broken tack weld or track problem, but saw nothing glaringly obvious. Just tightened everything down and it stopped for a time but it came back. In our case I have a feeling that "weight loss" would help. :P

I cant find the post but way back in the day someone posted a fix. I believe it was actually the seat frame that was cracked looked like a pretty involved repair

Nope, not at all Steve! (Joann is slim & trim). But you didn't specify who was in the passenger seat.....I'm just sayin at our house I was able to pinpoint the culprit.:D
