I can't get my fan to come on for my a/c... The line is icing up coming from the compressor but no fan blowing . Do you guys think the fan motor went up ?

Most likely a bad BMSC. Very common. Try tapping it with the handle of a screwdriver or something similar. If that makes the fan come on, PM fastblackmerc...he can fix the BMSC for you. If that doesn't do anything, it still could be a bad module. Try putting 12 volts directly to the blower motor terminals and see if it spins.

Yep... It spins with 12 volts to it

Then you likely have a bad BMSC...or less likely an issue with the EATC head unit.

1 other simple thing to try first also before getting further into it. 2 of my 3 MM's did it also & both of them it was simply the elec plug in to the fan motor assy. Just weren't making good contact as wiring is very short & they just worked them selves loose but appeared to be plugged in. Its a simple thing to ck.

I would love for it to be that simple.. It definatly runs with 12 volts to the motor though

The BCM (Blower Control Module) is also referred to in the service manual as the BMSC- Blower Motor Speed Control module. It's mounted to the evaporator housing behind the passenger-side head. Kind of a pain to access, since heater hoses are in the way...helps to have nimble fingers and be double-jointed.

I checked my plug and it was a no go... I'm going to take it to The dealership and lt them have at it ... That BCM is probably the issue.. I'm not even gonna try changing it myself .. Lol

Did you try tapping the BMSC first to see if that's the problem?

Ford is wrong

It's a possibility the EATC is the problem, but it's more likely the BCM.

Should I take it to get a second opinion ? It Took them all day to come up with that diagnosis .

Yah, a new BSCM is a lot less expensive than the EATC head unit the dealer wanted to gouge you for.

Yeah my fan started acting up and randomly changing speeds....I replaced my blower control module with a new Motorcraft one. Took about 45mins to swap out! All is well with the world again! Thanks to the wonderful knowledgable people on this forum!
