Engine Block Heater

Now I know summer is coming and it's even 80 degrees here in Michigan, but does anyone have an engine block heater installed? If so have you had any problems.

I'm getting ready to drain the coolant, so now is an opportune time to intall one so I looked up the Zerostart suggested plug heater, http://www.zerostart.com/publications.asp and Napa carries it for about $25. I'm only a little iffy about putting one in an aluminum engine. I've had no problems before in cast iron, I even put two in one of my small block chevys (it was a Caprice Classic and it didn't heat up any better with two than with one).

Does anyone have any experience with a plug type engine block heater in one of these 4.6L aluminum engines?

Isn't there a FMC dealer installed option for this? Just curious if it works the same way.

Don't worry about it. All Canadian Marauders came with the block heater as standard equipment. Just be sure you get the correct one from Ford.
