Where the current size is 235-55ZR-17 --can a 235-50ZR -17 work as well?
.and if so---what does the diff of "5" do to the car if any--like speedo for example?

Yes a 50 series will work just as well as a 55 series. The difference is height of the sidewall relative to it's width.

Doesn't matter if the wheel size is 12, 15, 17 or 22".

Going from 50 series to 55 series will not affect the speedo.

Changing the tire diameter will affect the speedo.

Going from 50 series to 55 series will not affect the speedo.A 235-55 tire is about an inch taller than a 235-50, so it will affect the speedo, but not much. Maybe not even enough to notice...

I would not do it..The 50 series is like an inch shorter dia.and same width as the 55..both are 9.25 wide..shorter looks bad on these large cars.

WOW--great reference you posted --will keep for future ..and thanks........really appreciated the feed back..........

I am into "looks"....hummm.............will take comparison look and think it over---may mount them and decide later---.at least I have a set if needed.......
