We have a 2004 MM. The passengers side head is not getting oil pressure so in time it melted the timing chain guide. We had the heads redone, replaced the guides, put it back together and the pass side head isn't getting any oil pressure while the drivers side head is fine and getting oil.
What path does the oil take in the passengers side head so we know where to look or what would cause no oil pressure on one side??
TIA for any help.-Jay

Are the oil restrictors installed and blown clear of machining debris under the cam cap extension? We're any of the external oil plugs removed and put back wrong? (Is the one behind the tensioner plugged by accident?)

Is your tensioner just wore out?

I remember someone posting a thread about replacement metal guides and I found this. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=63535

So let's assume that the oil passages are clogged up from particles from a worn plastic guides on the tensioner, is there a diagram that shows where to look for possible clogs????

It will be the cam cap in the back of the head. Bottom.

Check to make sure all oil galley plugs were re-installed.
This happened to another member at the dealer about 10 years ago.

If you have the OEM plastic tensioners they are well known for leaking oil past the block seal O-ring, causing them not to tension. These are a timing set failure waiting to happen, replace them with the iron ratcheting tensioners that bolt directly to the block - no seal. Of course with guide wear you should replace the whole cam timing set using the kit from Ford Racing.

Someone should post a sticky of parts needed for the job.

Hey ctrlraven, I read your thread above and it seems to end without you reporting if you replaced the timing components, how it went, how worn things were, etc. How did it go? Which components did you end up replacing?

EDIT: Nevermind. I found your results post: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=92538

Pictures answer some of your questions. Job went well, the passenger side head tick (due to the low psi on the tensioner and worn guide once oil thinned out at idle) went away as well with the start up chain rattle.

I ordered the guides and arms from Advance Auto Parts and the iron tensioners from RockAuto.com. The iron tensioners are not listed under the Marauder, I found them under the 2004>Ford>Mustang>4.6L SOHC timing component section. The guides and arms were listed under the Marauder listing.
