Fellow Marauder Owners:
Do you really love your Marauder? If so, please disregard this posting. However, if your like me, your very disappointed! Actually, I can't believe Ford advertised this car as a "MUSCLE SEDAN", can you? Name another muscle car that can't burn rubber. Never mind, there aren't any! Our Marauders can't even chirp the tires!
I've been a Ford lover all my life, starting with my 63 1/2, V8, Ford Falcon! That is until I shelled out $38,000 cash (after taxes) for this so called Marauder Muscle sedan. I waited over 2 years for this car to come out. What really sold me was watching the smoking burnouts on the Mercury Marauder web site, as well as the giant poster they sent me for my wall. Web site has since been changed, guess they had too many complaints.
Happy New Year

::Hands out asbestose Undies::

To try and keep this civil, and maybe learn him a thing or two...

1. Our cars weigh in at over 4100 lbs.
2. We have tall and wide high performace Tires with fresh rubber (at least I do, with less the 6000 miles on mine.)
3. We have one of, if not THE best handleling packages ever put into a full size sedan.

1+2+3 = Great hook up with no spin.

I have been to the track. See my sig for best time, and that was my first time EVER at a track. Smoke burn outs? I don't need them or want them. I break them loose if I have to large a pebble in front of the tires when I start out. Could this car have more torque off the line, yes, a bit.
My only disapointment with this car is that the front seats could be about 3 inchs higher.

Joe,

C'mon man - feel the love!

If you have all of these problems with the Marauder, I have to ask: why did you buy it?

I know you sorta answered that in your post, but really? You spent 38K on a car based on a TV commercial and a poster?

You did test drive it, didn't you?

A lot of these guys are tickled to have the MM as a platform to mod. Me, I may get a performance chip after a few thousand more miles. But other than that: I love the MM just the way it is. As I've posted elsewhere when this came up before: I knew exactly what the MM was before I bought it. It was just a bit over-priced IMHO. So I pounced when the rebate was offered.

I'm happy!

PS: My first car was a 69 Ford XL 429 that would burn rubber like an out-of-control tire fire. It was also the fastest car at my high school and sorta famous (infamous?) around these parts. I miss it every day. It's different with the MM, but still great.

Attempting to organize any type of "lawsuit" or other bull through this site will only get this site shut down. This ends here. Anything further on the subject will be removed.
