View Full Version : I have this noise on heavy acceleration

I just got back from the Woodward Dream Cruise in Michigan and I have a noise from the blue car. Every time I am under heavy throttle I get this loud whining or screeching noise it is difficult to explain. Any ideas? It really only happens under a heavy load or heavy throttle. Idle is fine and light acceleration is fine. Thanks.

Idler pulley? I have a bad bearing in one of my pulleys whines under heavy acceleration.

Is this a different noise than your "goes away when hot" transmission?

My 2V was doing something like that. I'm guessing it sounded somewhat like a high pitched scream? I changed my serpentine belt and that took care of the problem.

now you broke it, you might need your own eaton swap kit you are selling to fix it.

Found it. It was this pulley. :banana: Was just having a little fun shame on me.

Funny, I have that same noise coming out from under my hood too.... kinda like a Pterodactyl!!!!!!!

It's impossible, I never saw you apply heavy throttle on that car to create any noise....:burnout:

823 miles from home without a trailer gotta be easy on old girl. I did get after it with Zack in the car on the way home from Sandbar. You where busy loading your stuff on the trailer ;) LOL. #dailydriverissues :beer:

Gotta have a trailer to be prepared for breakdowns. I.e. Jerry's cars...lol.

I did get after it on 59 with the winner from the silverdome.....if it was going to break, that would have been the time.

And maybe got on it a few times on Woodward...... I don't think they will be releasing their goPro videos any time soon.

Then there was that awesome 66' chevelle that toyed with Jerry's 4.0 whipple car. That ole boy had him solid for the first 3 feet. Lolz

In car video will be mandatory next year!

Left our trailer at home. Yes, gotta be prepared. Thus you where able to pick up the Whipple car. :) Yes gopro's needed. Glad I won one last year at Louisville. :eek:
