Looking for some advice on which to install on the rear of my 03 mm. , I took a long trip last week (about 700 miles) and when I returned home I noticed my pass side shock leaking.. I have 85,000 miles on it and it used more as a weekend driver long trips etc.. so much fun to drive.. I have been reading the forums and see guy`s are using both but I hear/read good and bad about both I know the monroe`s are cost effective and I have them in my jeeps and quigley van and never had an issue but should I go for the extra buck`s and install the kyb? My mm is a stock car with no tune and stock exhaust, any advice or thoughts are appreciated.. Thanks in advance Bill

I just went through the same dilemma on one of my Mustangs. LMR had a big sale on Koni & KYB. Heck , I was even thinking of splurging on Bilsteins! But, when it came down to it, this particular car is mostly stock. I wasn't convinced I would notice much difference, except in my wallet (trying to save for an Eaton swap ;)). Advanced Auto Parts had a big sale on the Monroes. They wound up being $44 with tax for the pair! Plus, the Monroes are yellow and so is the Mustang...:P .

KYBs all the way. When I tried Monroes they felt worse than worn out Motorcrafts.

I disagree. Monroes in the rear felt 10 times better then the stock ones when replaced around 165k

Both are good. I've had KYB in most applications, been extremely happy with them, and never had a single problem.

With all, look for KITS so you can get all of the pieces needed to install.
