What is EPATS?

There is another thread discussing deletion of the EPATS by 96gt4.6 (coyote engine into a Marauder).

What is EPATS? Is it different than PATS? Why does it need to be deleted?

Couldn't find any hits for EPATS on internet.

I didn't want to high-jack the coyote thread.
