Late flight tonight. Had to stay at an airport hotel.
Cranked her up with a noticeable whine coming from the engine compartment.
Popped the hood, sure enough there's a nice power steering fluid puddle on the ground.
From the sound of it the pump's fried.
Is it a Marauder specific part?
Any advice is appreciated...
Thanks,
Jim

The ford parts list only shows one pump, all SOHC/DOHC engines should be the same.
Take the oil filter off for clearance.
The high-pressure line has a teflon seal that can be a bear to work with. Tip: heat it up with HOT water to aid installation.
You will need a pulley puller. It may be worth having a shop do that part for you, it can be tough.
Other than that, once the pump is replaced, fill the system with fluid and turn the wheels lock to lock OFF the ground with the engine NOT running 10-12 times. Then recheck fluid level and top off. Then start the engine for a few seconds and shut off. Check fluid level again. Then start and leave running, and turn the wheel side to side to bleed additional air.

Find out where the fluid leaked from - if the pump is dry it will sound very bad and will quickly BE bad if it runs dry for very long. If a hose or fitting let go and the pump didn't run for very long dry you may not have a bad pump. Did you run it full of fluid to see if the noise is still there?
Good luck w/the repair however it turns out!

Thanks guys.
It turned out to be a fitting.
I caught it before it ran dry, so all is well now.
Thanks again for your help!
