The oddest and coolst thing happened to me today. Boy, was I glad that I had my camera.

I was driving up to a friends house in Hillsboro, NH. In other words, I WAS IN THE STICKS. We're talking farm country. Right down to the piles of cow manure. :)

I was just coming up to the DIRT ROAD where he lives when, on the left, I saw a newer Corvette, an M5 and a second Corvette all parked one behind the other.

I almost passed by but stopped and backed up to see if the guys I saw were the owners. I opened with, "Hey, do you guys own those junk cars over there?" Of course, they laughed. They were obviously as impressed to see a Marauder enter their day as I was to see them.

As it turns out these threee guys get together every now and then to blast the back roads of northern New England with their cars. They are serious enought to have bought two way radios (not HAMs, ahem :P ) to stay in touch.

Anyway, they let me take a few photos. The first one below is of me blocking the M5. I hated doing that. Then I suggested that we do a line up and get more photos. They were happy to oblige.

It was really, really cool to be in such a remote location and to see all of that muscle. The REALLY good news is that they said they would invite me for their next outing. :banana2:

Enjoy the pics.

Best,

Dan

There, that should be a bit better.

I have my own web space and wanted to use it. While I understand the need to limit file sizes I really dislike the way resizing makes my photos look. They aren't that good to start with. :)

Dan

Nice story Dan, and great pics. Just remember...you can pretty well keep up with the other 3...but you're the ONLY one that can do it with 4 friends in the car...and six bags of golf clubs in the trunk.

The M5 had his tires turned to the right.

I'll keep all of you posted on the first time out. I get the feeling that they are fast because of their cars while I am quite sure that I am fast because of my experience. :)

We shall see.

As for mods, none yet. Just the superchips microtuner. My first real mod is going to be aMac-daddy refrigerator. (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9831)

LOL.

Actually the first mod will be the Trilogy S/C sans stickers.

Dan

Man I'm dumb, I thought there was a big quarter or something for a rim...It just looked odd, but I see it now!

Hey man, those fridges are COOL (haha literally).

I think that's really cool they'd invite you along, real nice of them. A fun thing to do every now and then.

Now go by yourself a two-way radio!

Those are some really nice pictures. I never knew that you could get a Vette in that color, and it's really beautiful. The blue Marauder fits right in!

Great looking Blue MM. Nice Pick and Pix. Why the extra set of golf clubs??? Wouldn't 5 sets of clubs and 2 cases of adult beverages make more sense?

Holy smokes, there's 1500 horsepower in just one of those pictures. And I thought I was doing good with 650 at home. Rock on.

No no, you've got it all wrong! 4 ladies (Or 3 and one guy if he's got a girl to his name) and a few kegs, cases and coolers in the trunk.:pimp:

While we need the 3 ladies in the car, I can do without the kegs, cases, and coolers in the trunk if they are instead replaced with a SCT Tuner, Dynotech metal matrix driveshaft, 4.10 gears, and a Trilogy blower :)

What we especially cool was that it happened completely by chance and in a very, very remot location. Like I said, it was the very end of the pavement and they weren't going to drive on dirt.

The guys were so cool about it, too. It so happened that this was at a place called Eccardt Farm. There is a pond there and people come to visit the place for some reason. As a result of this there was quite a bit of attention that was drawn to this little gather. Just remember that in NH on that day a lot of attention meant about 7 more people.

I had a hunch that you guys would love the story so instead of going by (I nearly did) I decided that I had to stop and hob nob with these fellow Princes of the Road. I am glad to see that I was right.

Best,

Dan

I wouldn't. But good thing I have room for them both.

The M5 is a sweet car too. Those vettes look like 2002 Z06s in Electron Blue, a nice color.
