Hi guys,
I'm kinda confused when it comes to this part "Rebuilding the motor"
I actually completed the Eaton swap parts. And I want to do this swap so bad.
But, Some said you have to change the internals some said no need :(
The car has been rebuild before but i'm not sure about the quaility of the internals.
So guys I want to ask you what do you think?
Should I take the risk and do the swap OR I rebuild it first?
Is it the same if I take the risk then rebuild it? because I'll rebuild it anyway!
Sorry about the long story but I figered out to buy this used H-BEAM (http://www.ebay.com/itm/281731475422?_trksid=p2060353. m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) rods!
And if I go with that which pistions should I buy? and which size or spec?
Thanks

You need forged pistons, forged rods and a forged crankshaft along with the associated bearings, rings, etc.
As for the sizes you need that depends on the wear in the bore, etc.
Is there anyone capable of doing the work over there?

CAST !!!! if I'm gonna rebuild it the Forged well be my choice.
That's depinding on which job you mean! the swap I'll try and doing it myself.
But the rebuilding we have some shops to do.

1. If you can afford to, or plan on boosting past ~425rwhp (8-10psi) - you should build the motor before the swap
2. pretty sure FBM meant to write that you need forged pisons, rods and crank.
The rods you selected to show are good rods, but if you have a shop do the engine build for you, I'd suggest they aquire all new, matched components to fit your engine and application. You won't know the spec or size, until you block machining is completed.
You should also consider using ARP crank main studs and head studs during assembly, as insurance and allowing room to increase boost level later.
3. If your engine is in good working order now, with reasonably low miles, you should be fine to do the Eaton swap without rebuilding the motor.
Just say within it's limit of boost.

Then do I need to actually Machine the block? because thats gonna cost some$$$$
Can I only flush and clean the block well! But without bore or machining?
So I guess I can't buy the internals without oping the engine!!!!

yes, building a motor costs money. How much power you trying to make?..an eaton will only get you so far until it is maxed out..prolly in the 450rwhp range..if you plan on upgrading to a whipple or other at some point, better to spend it now and upgrade all the internal stuff.

And it costs even more if you want it to be reliable over the long term.

The best thing to to do is contact an experienced engine builder first. Don't buy internal parts like pistons without inspecting the cylinder bores.
