Last night in the blinding setting sun my father rear ended a parked pick up truck that was sitting curb side in the street. In the low sun dad just lost his vision long enough to not see the truck and wham!

So now it needs a front bumper, header panel, right headlight as well as corner light and the right fender.

My question is this, is any of those parts Marauder specific? Or can I just shop for Crown Vic parts too? I know the front bumper has the driving lights that the CV normally doesn't, but beyond that?

Thanks for any and all help guys.

Glenn

by the way, dad didn't get hurt. Just his ego.......

Header panel can be from a 03-05 Grand marquis..same thing as marauder, and fender can be crown vic or marquis as well

Good luck finding OEM parts to fix that.

I understand Depo brand lights fit well.

Check with the local scrap yard, they may be able to locate what you need.

Member BigcowlImp. may have some of the body parts you need. PM him.

I got my fender and recently found a Grand Marquis header panel on that site, sorted by nearest first = junkyard 30 minutes away - in the color of my car!

headlight/sidelight/grille/bumper - repop is acceptable, but will require 'fitting' to the car.

repop header panel sucks at the fender gaps.

So I was getting fenders replaced (started to bubble up rust) and thought that 2003 onward was interchangeable for Gran Marquis/Crown Vic/Marauder, but the guy doing the painting says the aftermarket replacement ones ordered -- for Gran Marquis/Crown Vic fit-- do not fit properly. Said they were too tall by the door, or something. Are the Marauder ones actually different?

1998 and up the same. Aftermarket is most likely the issue . Marauder door is not specific

Do a search on CVN...I couldn't put my finger on it, but there's a very comprehensive article on exactly which body panels are interchangeable.

I do remember that fenders are all the same from '92 up.

Header panel is '03-'05 Marauder and MGM.

Hoods and trunk lids are also supposed to be all the same from '92, but don't take that as gospel.

Thanks guys. Yeah I think, as suggested, the problem is the aftermarket fenders not quite to spec, and the ones I got have to be "modified."

For fenders, apparently Marauders share Crown Vic 1992-2011 and Gran Marquis 2003-2011.

For info purposes, here is from a post I found on CVnet by BigMerc96 that deals with front end swaps:

most common asked question is Marauder to CV swap. You can't use the bumper, grille, or headlights off of a Marauder on to a Crown Vic without changing the entire front end. Marauder corners will work with some modification

Crown Vic Fenders are the same 1992-2011. Grand Marquis fenders are the Same 1992-2002, in 2003 they were changed to share the Vic fenders(this includes the Marauder).

There have been 3 hoods, the 1992-1994 steel Aero hood, the identical 1995-1997 Aluminum Aero hood, and the 1998-2011 steel hood, these two generation hoods are not directly swappable. Crown Vic and Grand Marquis use the same hoods in a given range. (ie: Aero CV and MGM share one hood, Whale CV and MGM share one hood)

Crown Vics have used 3 different bumpers and 4 different header panels.

Header Panels(Vic):
1992 (unique to this year, no Grille)
1993-1994
1995-1997
1998-2011

Bumpers(vic)
1992-1994
1995-1997
1998-2011

The Grand Marquis Has had 5 different Header Panels and front Bumpers.

Bumper and Header(marquis)
1992-1994
1995-1997
1998-2002
2003-2005 (Header is the same as Marauder, and Marauder bumper-cover is a direct swap)
2006-2010

The rear lights of all 1998-20011 GMQ. CV, and Marauder share the same shape and are therefore swappable between year/make/model.

Areo Vics and Marquis use different Rear Quarter panels, both from each other and from whales. Unless you want to cut an weld whale rear quarters, you cannot use Whale rear lights on an Aero.

The inner structure of the Front end didn't change 1992-2011, so all sheet metal from any year will bolt right on.

Front end swaps (All swaps require lights, grilles, and related wiring):

1998-2002 GMQ to a whale CV, you only need the header, lights, fenders and bumper.

to go from 1992-1997 Marquis to whale CV, you need the same parts, plus the hood and latch.

1992-1997 CV to Whale CV, same as Marquis except you don't need the fenders as they are the same.

1998-2011 CV to Mercury Marauder, Header panel and bumper.

1998-2002 GMQ to Mercury Marauder, same as MGM-to-CV swap but with Marauder Header and Bumper.

2003-2005 GMQ to Marauder, you only need the bumper, header is the same, as is the grille other than the MM grille being body-color.

2006-2010 GMQ to Marauder, Header and Bumper.

2003-2010 GMQ to Whale CV, Header, Bumper.
