i am sure many of us have had the experience of a broken fuel filter/line clip. I would prefer to replace the clip or even the portion of fuel line but I am on hard times and counting pennies. So this was my temporary solution.

Nice! I always get the clips when I buy the filter. I don't always break them but a couple extra isn't bad to have on hand.

If you learn how to disengage them you won't break them!!

Been ages since having to deal with the clips, after upgrading to the 3" filter and removing the 90 degree bend connectors is super easy when replacing the filter. Two little hose clamps and the clamp around the filter.

Or look in the Help! section of most auto parts stores and get a pair for about $2 and do it soon, the zip tie solution is scary for the long term. I'd not trust it longer than to get to the store and then back home to replace them.

Always seems that the clips that come with the new filter don't fit , I just use the old clips .anyone else have this issue ?

Bringing up a old thread here
Bought a DTR 3 weeks ago and finally spent some rack time on it
So apparently the last guy who changed the fuel filter broke both clips and used them and electrical tape to fix it. OMG
So the above # was a good valid number at napa, but they didn't have any, all their fuel filters contained the wrong larger clips
Went to Oreillys and they had no idea what the above # was, but they had dorman ones in the help section. Low and behold # 023 had the correct clips
Lesson learned here, buy the small clips before you start to work on the filter..

On my MM I went with KRC Racing Race Ready Inline Fuel Filters
The big cams need constant flow :)
