just went through the EXACT same thing.
Call SCT tech 407-774-2447 x8630
Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST

have this downloaded and open when you call:
http://www.sctflash.com/TeamViewer/sctqs.exe

tech remotes into your PC, he opens SCT device manager, updates the program, has you plug in your tuner to the USB on your PC, and updates the driver = walah! Said they have new firmare to correct this and other recent issues.
He also fixed my SCT program, the screen was not fully opening, both were done in 10 minutes.
Program runs better than ever.

I have to send the device in. They can't fix it remotely.

He said the chip inside needs to be repaired. Mailing it out today if that's the case.
