Control arm bushings

Going to be doing new control arm bushings and ball joints in the near future. The upper control arms are very reasonably priced from Rock Auto but the lowers are a bit pricey, has anybody ever changed the bushing and ball joint on the lower arms? Can it be done or is the only way to purchase new ones?

I've done it with a ball joint press from Harbor Freight, but it's a PITA (the inner front bushing on the LCA). The ball joint was not too difficult as I recall.
